Bunch of fucken wusses! its just for a few days.

The stupidity displayed in this statement is quite revealing about this person. If no one likes it, no one asked for it - then there would be no one in the stands watching it. I would hazard a guess that his lack of self confidence in his personal worth is reflected in all his opinions - I don't like is replaced by no one likes ... 'insert politician's name', pink shoes, Chinese food, etc.
As for the annual airshow itself , would those complaining about noise also ban holiday fireworks also ?
The British had the Nimrod and Vulcan aircraft back in 1984 at the show. I think that the U S A had a B1 bomber that year, too. I should check the photos that I had taken at that show, to confirm.

There was a crash and pilot death at the Oshawa airport a few years ago. Wasn’t that part of the Toronto sir show? Some military jets used to use Oshawa as a stopover or base.

I love the air show. I live in the west end right over the flight path of the blue angels setting up for their manoeuvres. I get a blast out of watching the blue angels scream right overhead, so low you can almost see the pilots' call-signs on the side of the cockpit. It's got it all, the pinnacle of engineering, the cutting edge of technology and a group of super-human men basically riding a pair of jet engines engaged in a test of endurance, skill, brains, extreme physical fitness and split second hand eye co-ordination. To say nothing of the fact that these are the same young men who would be willing to lay it on the line to protect our way of life.
There's nothing else like it.
And I love it.

You `ll need to head to the States or England for that. I began going to our air show in the early `70s and it now seems greatly diminished from long ago.
I stopped going to the Ex a number of years ago. As a kid, going with family, later with friends as a teen. It was always something to look forward to. Nothing more than the air show. Later in life, loved that our office was way up, with a clear view over the lake. Saw it every year.
Why anyone wouldn’t appreciate it is beyond me. Nor what it ($) brings to the city. I guess the utter cacophony of noise pollution in the city every day, is just something you get used to and tune out.

I saw the Blue Angel crash in 1966 a few days before I started grade 1. We used to watch the air show from Balmy Beach.
I live just south of you, by the lake and I know what you mean about the fighter jets, the Navy Blue Angels roaring right above our heads.
The north/south axis is a somewhat diagonal line from northwest to southeast whereby the jets scream through towards and away from the lake. Basically from Jane southeast through Grenadier pond to the water pumping ship in the lake.
I have counted about 2 dozen passes by the Blue Angels along this axis, scorching through the skies and low, low, low to the ground. 1 jet, 2 jets, 3, 4, and 6 at a time.
I've watched from my balcony where it seems you can almost reach out and touch them and today by on a small sandy beach touching the lake south of Grenadier pond where they roared through 2dozen passes just above our heads.
The British Red Arrows were in the show a few years ago.
They are really good.
