Not just jets, but representing military power as such. Canadair F86 Sabres did front line service in the Indo-Pakistan war of `71. If Kautilya is around perhaps he can opine.
During WW II airplanes made in Canada were flown to the U.K. by female pilots.

It would be neat to hear the iconic Stuka dive sound that everyone knows, but it would trigger a whole lot of people. I wouldn't want to see it though because it's a fugly plane
Better yet, it would be really cool to see an air show of all heritage aircraft like the: P51, Lancaster, etc. It would absolutley amazing to see a flying replica of the Avro Arrow.
Always thought, zeros had the speed, but the slower American planes could outmaneuver and take damage??

Read something a couple months ago that they recovered a scaled down Avro from Lake O, not far offshore nearby. Apparently they would launch the unmanned test plane over the lake.

I am okay with Air Shows, it sort of encourage young people to dream big, I know I did.
As for practice maneuvers, I say use a simulator 50% of the time. Then do a real fly exercises that way less pollution. Everyone is happy and so are the animals.

I have no idea how the Zero compared to US fighters.
It truly was a shame that they cancelled the Avro program and destroyed everything.
Major Richard Bong USAF fought Zeros flying a P-38 Lightning. Apparently, the Zeros rarely was able to take a hit. Major Bong was credited with 40 kills (not sure if they were all Zeros).
