Tao...I take it this was for the pardon, do you know if the waiver is the same process??
Gonna be hard for me, I think a total of 6 charges on my record, half for impaired, some charges are 40 years old, when I was a kid I got caught with about $5 worth of pot, on my record it shows "possesion of narcotics", I'll never remember which courts dealt with them.....
The waiver is the American document. It 'waives' your inadmissability for entry to the USA. The process is an American government process. You can get help from companies who do part of the work for you, or do it yourself. As with Canadian pardons, the Americans want the official proof—fingerprints, court documents etc.— of how bad you were back then and what a straightjohn you have been since. Don't despair if it's old news, that actually counts for you, and courts, police record sections and such are professionals at digging out old stuff. If they can't find it, neither will the Americans most likely.

Start with the official word from the US government.

Yes this was for a pardon, I was informed that a pardon in most cases is suffice to a waiver..

"If U.S. Immigration officials have never accessed your criminal record using the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), and you obtain a Canada Pardon, that will remove your criminal record information from CPIC . This means that the U.S. will not have access to this information"

I'll never remember which courts dealt with them.....
Once you get your original police check it will show where the offence took place

Unless you have four where you were sentenced to more than two years (probation or not), and unless you were convicted of a sex crime involving a child, then you should still be eligible so long as the most recent offense was over ten years ago.

I never served time, assults impaireds and the one possesion, most of the charges are at least 20 - 25 years old, one is 40 years, the last is not ten years yet.....so I guess I wait..
