The best thing to do if you have your wife and kid with you is to be a pussy for just one day.
I think the natural instinct is to fight or flee. In this and the Michael Bryant case, they fled. In George Zimmerman's case, he pulled out his legally concealed weapon and fired.

And that's where you are wrong.
Making redundant laws wont help, but preparing yourself for the situation can make the difference between life and death if you are the one involved.
Yes, we need to enforce and beef up the existing laws and hand out proper punishment for breaking them. The problem is how do you enforce something this and what is the proper punishment?

And how does one prepare for this kind of situation? Get off the road whenever you see any motor cycle? Prepare a map of every escape route in the city? Black out all your windows so a dumb biker can't see you making faces at him?

Preventing this is equally difficult? We can't put up a checkpoint at every highway entrance and only allow one motorcycle per hour; or do background checks for buying motorcycles or motorcycle gear or buying Range Rovers; or make a dedicated motor cycle only lane; or prevent people from looking at each other the wrong way. You can't prepare for or prevent human stupidity.

Yes, the fight or flight instinct is difficult to suppress. First responders and soldiers are trained to do it, but it's tough for them too. I wouldn't be sticking around to talk with a gang of bikers either because they could be armed.

Important key is presence of mind. Do you really think you can take 5 bikers by yourself?

What a joke... so the injured biker's family is getting that douche bag lawyer to represent the idiot that got injured.
Cry me a river that you hang around with idiots on bikes.
So which biker got hurt by the SUV? I think it was a rider that was not directly involved in the collision, but the one that got in front of the SUV to help the downed rider? If so, that was a very dumb move too.

Unfortunately, it does look like both parties are equally to blame after the collision. It's not right for bikers to force someone to stop on the highway and damage his car. It's also not right for the SUV driver to intentionally drive over the bikers. Could he not have honked or warned the bikers somehow? At the end of the day, it's one of those situations where we'll never know how to act until we're in this situation. I guess all you can do is lock your doors, invest in a dash cam, stay calm, try not to hit anyone and call the cops.
Honked or warned the bikers somehow? Are you kidding? These guys had slashed his tires, who knows what else they would have done it he just sat there. He had his wife and child in the vehicle.

Lock your doors and stay calm when you're surrounded by a large group of motorcyclists? Right, you do that.

They were all armed, with helmets!

If these guys think they're so good, they should enter stunt riding competitions and keep it off the streets.

It's actually pretty amazing watching what these guys can do on two wheels, or one as is the case with this insanely talented guy named Christian Pfeiffer. Remember, this video was taken 10 years ago when there wasn't that many people doing this stuff.

Honked or warned the bikers to get out of the fucking way! Hell, just lurching the truck forward is warning enough before taking off. If the driver was armed, then a warning shot or even just pointing a gun at them. Then drive away, lock the doors, etc. and don't stay at the scene while trying not to hit anyone.

There are 2 sides to this story and you have to look at the whole issue. The police have already said that they need to look at the totality of this incident to find out who is responsible and what punishment to hand out. You cannot view the incident based only on what is in the video or on other videos. Like I said before, we have no idea what happened just before this video rolled. Could be that the Range Rover driver cut one of the bikers off unknowingly. That doesn't excuse the bikers from ganging up, slowing down, or slashing the tires. It also doesn't excuse the driver for paralysing one of the riders that was helping the original rider up from the pavement.

This guy is paranoid, dont listen to him lol

No silly. So you can maybe catch a license plate and call the cops or take legal action. A dash cam can maybe act as a deterrent too.

You're the paranoid one with the stockpile of guns just in case big, bad government is gonna take over your property.

A three bike turn and he could have been back on the highway. Err, three point.
Wasn't there a side street behind him?

Jason Stratham would've turned the SUV around on the spot and probably knocking those approaching bikers down.

He did exactly the right thing. Once you are actually under physical attack, as he was, you do not warn people that you are going to flee. You simply flee. Hit the accelerator and get the hell out of there. Stay where you are and die, it is critical that you get off the 'X' as they say, retake control and move away from the attack.

You missed the bit about how they had already slashed his tires and were trying to break into his car.

The only potentially unfortunate aspect is if the guy who got run over wasn't involved in the violence and had stopped to assist someone else.

Still in a situation like that you don't have any time to warn people. Two more seconds and they may be dragging you out a smashed window, as they eventually did.

This happens to anyone driving an expensive rare vehicle. You will draw attention to yourself.
