I think the SUV was blocked on all sides so backing up wouldn't be possible. This is on a highway, so there would be no place to go in reverse.I was surprised he did not do that. Would seem to have been a very natural thing to do.

You don't need much place. A few meters in each direction would suffice. Rangerover is a hell of a weapon. You only need enough space to drive over those who are close to you. You should be able to do that on rims for quite some time, don't even need tires.I think the SUV was blocked on all sides so backing up wouldn't be possible. It is my understanding that the NYPD has now banned them from even applying for an event permit.Lifetime ban on owning a motorcycle is a suitable punishment. If any of them have been involved in these confrontations before, then a life time ban on driving is even more suitable.
If I was in that situation, I'm wouldn't take the few seconds to switch into reverse. I'm just going forward as fast as I can and that's exactly what happened. You don't need much place. Well that's not smart, you cannot outrun the bikes. Cruising down the highway doing as low as 40km/hr and on the phone with 911 probably would be the smartest thing to do.If I was in that situation, I'm wouldn't take the few seconds to switch into reverse. cops give you more tickets when your car is faster, not because it's more expensiveI used to drive a bmw and you get this kind of unwanted glance and looks from people all the time. That's why I ditched it for a jeep. i get much less attention now. Driving an expensive car is asking for trouble, and cops give you tickets more often too.
I got one seatbelt ticket at downtown traffic jam, all cars were moving less than 5 km.cops give you more tickets when your car is faster, not because it's more expensive
Cops like tuner cars too especially Civics.I got one seatbelt ticket at downtown traffic jam, all cars were moving less than 5 km.
I got a 70 / 40 ticket where another car went right pass me, yet the cop stopped the bmw.
When you drive an expensive car, people notice you more, even the cops.
Got mine here. Are you serious? I once considered getting security cams years ago after my tires were slashed by a stripper's jealous BF ago but they aren't like modern dash cams. Please PM me info or post a link here on dash cams.
I like your suggestion that the SUV should have backed up over them.
If I see a swarm of these menacing bikes on the 407, I'll call the cops. There are some decent people out there though who ride in packs and obey the law.
You're just scared because there are motorcycles around you? bahahahahThis happens here as well.
I was driving back from up north along the 407 this summer when about 30-40 of these guys came up fast behind us. I was doing about 120km/hr. They passed my car and slowed down to about 80-90 making all the cars need to slow down quickly as all lanes were being blocked. That was the extent of it, but it is pretty scary when these guys are all around you. One guy was doing a wheelie at 100km/hr. People in my car were scared and kept telling me to slow down, but I refused to go below 90km/hr. One biker was about 10 feet in front of me then sped off. Apparently, these guys will target expensive cars and claim a minor traffic accident if you bump them and then ask for cash for repairs to the bike. If you don't pay up they slash your tire.
I have a dash cam in my car, I bought it after a very rude police encounter (expired plate sticker) so I could capture any more incidents with the Po-Po. I would have done the same thing as the SUV driver. In fact, I would have backed up over them when the SUV was trapped.
This guy is paranoid, dont listen to him lolAre you serious? I once considered getting security cams years ago after my tires were slashed by a stripper's jealous BF ago but they aren't like modern dash cams. Please PM me info or post a link here on dash cams.

Cause clearly that will stop them from ever riding again. Did you know the guy who got hurt didnt even have a license? Did you miss the part where the plates were stolen or no plates at all? All of that is against the law, as is beating the shit out of someone and stomping on their heads, yet they still did it.Lifetime ban on owning a motorcycle is a suitable punishment. If any of them have been involved in these confrontations before, then a life time ban on driving is even more suitable.
Except now it seems that you need one that has a 360 view or at least 180 view to see through the wind shield and side windows.
Short of shooting all cyclists on sight, what would you propose? You're just scared because there are motorcycles around you? bahahahah
Dude, seek help

Perhaps a double ban?
I dont have all the answers, but clearly doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results isn't the answer. I believe einstein called that insanity lolShort of shooting all cyclists on sight, what would you propose?
As long as there are people willing to dumb things, there will always be a problem. Unless we're prepared to create a police state, stuff like this will always be around. The only thing we can do is deal with the issue after the fact. There's no way to prevent people from ganging up like this.I dont have all the answers, but clearly doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results isn't the answer. And that's where you are wrong. As long as there are people willing to dumb things, there will always be a problem.
