The 5th Estate (do you know the other 4?) did an hour long expose on the evils of OxyContin on Friday night.

Perhaps a better question what makes them different from the fourth?

The 1st, 2nd, 3rd Estates were the primary mediaeval divisions of society: the Clergy, the Nobility, the Commoners.

The 4th estate came later, being the Press.

The fifth estate is sometimes taken to be "everyone else". In the TV program, the intent was for it to mean "television, the focus of society".

is it true that it is similar to heroin which is why methadone is used for addicts of oxy.

also are percocets the same as oxy? snorting crushed percs makes you feel like you are sinking into the couch.....according to a friend who had percs for breaking his neck.

Percs are the same as Oxy, but they have 5mg of the drug and the rest of the pill is filler, i think its mixed with codeine. Thats why percs are such big pills compared in size to Oxy, its like 4 times the size of an Oxy, because of all the fillerss that are in it.

same friend told me if you mix oxy, E and coke into a big multicolour pile and just chop out kines your body goes on a roller coaster and has no idea if it should be up or down or what the fuck. it's also a really fun night or so i was told by this friend.

Like blackrock, I too can take these with no addiction worries. After a surgery last year I took up to 3 (maybe 4) a day, but stopped taking them after they eventually clogged me up, lol. I chose smooth moves over pain relief. I have a few dozen left over, and they are THE BEST hangover cure ever invented.

Seriously, though, I can take one when I need it then not take another for months if I don't have a serious pain to deal with. Lucky me, I guess. But these are amazing pain killers for sure.

What is really evil is the manufacturer (Purdue) of OxyContin knowing full well the extremely addictive nature of the drug. The company and 3 of its execs were convicted in a Virginia court.

That's the problem though most people aren't like you. Studies clearly show it has an addictive feature. Count yourself lucky.

Like cigarettes, cocaine, and heroin I wouldn't suggest people start using it because there is a significant risk of addiction.

I used to smoke cigarettes daily for 10 years and went cold turkey. Wouldn't say I am strong or better just lucky.

Also, they are used for fast acting pain whereas oxyctin is time released.

Every time I've needed them i've known of the same problem with constipation and take them with some sort of softener, which solves the problem perfectly. Many meds have the same effects, but the solution is easy.
