Which Sweden Do You Want to Believe In?

It pretty much is exact same as Canada
Polarized media; right wing says one thing, left wing says contradictory thing

Majority of lockdown processes are *voluntary* and those who disobey are not punished (again see Canada)

Swedish Health was wrong about stance on masks (same as Can) on contact tracing (same as Can) and on asymptomatic transmissions (same as Can)

Sweden also failed to protect long term care homes (same as Can)

So um yeah
But seriously why is this being posted in the ON hospital cases?

Are you trying to drown out the numbers I posted above?

Do you actually believe locking down the entire country has any purpose?

What is obviously clear is due to lockdowns:

1) serious vehicular accidents & deaths are way way down
2) flu deaths & serious complications have decreased tremendously
3) C-19 ill health & deaths are far less due to the lockdowns
4) likewise probably other communicable diseases (e.g. tuberculosis, HIV) have been greatly reduced by the extreme safety measures in place
5) street crimes have probably been highly reduced.
6) families have been able to spend more time together enjoying each others company while free from the slavery of that 4 letter word "work" that the vast majority hate. Giving more time for quality of life activities like sex & various entertainments.
7) abortions (child murder) are probably down.

Go take a look today

They actually went back and CENSORED the video

The ENTIRE discussion with the doctor was REMOVED (please tell me you rem his name so we can find it on YouTube)

Now a NEW section with John Tory has been inserted INSTEAD
I hate this censorship crap. Science is about inquiry and skepticism and challenging each other. We are doing ourselves a great disservice by censoring medical professionals/scientists who are in disagreement with the 'mainstream' views.

Go look at the public shaming and violence for those who disagree with you
So much for democracy or free speech

????

First, Sweden is about 1/4 of Canada's population and 60% of Ontario's population.
Sweden has double the death rate of Canada, currently has a daily case count around triple Ontario's, and has a daily death count similar to Ontario's. And to top it off, their economy is only doing a little better than Canada.

I hate this censorship crap. ...
I hate these people who don't know what censorship is. Youtube or CTV pulling videos that violate their standards is no different that a newspaper pulling advertising that violates theirs.

But sure, throw around emotional words like censorship and free speech even though it doesn't apply here. But funny to see K complaining we aren't listening to science.

Not surprised he's run away from the thread. Sadly the 500 or so daily cases when he started this thread seems like a wonderful thing in comparison.
  • Hospitalized
    645
  • ICU
    185
  • On ventilator

I have a life outside the forum. I am busy working and seeing SPs The hospitals are not overwhelmed with "covid" there are over 490 hospitals 18000 beds 2000 icu rooms. In past few seasons like 2018 reporters all report the flu season straining hospitals

So let me get this straight
500 daily is "ok"
But you are sounding panic alarm because you show 645 now?

The co-relation between age and death is still the most relevant factor
EVEN back in summer (eg June) 14 to 17 year olds were the MOST infected Covid group; and literally NONE of them died

There is also a GREAT graph on this page; scroll down to Cases By OutBreak Settings

Bars, Restaurants, Schools & Childcare are non-existent (contrary to media spin)
Long term care is obviously the largest by far
Personal Service is pretty high (Realtors maybe?)

BUT the largest of secondary sources by far is FARMING
Apparently those migrant workers are a massive covid super spreader
No other workplaces even come close (food processing is a distant second, retail is non-existent)

Never mind reason and concentrate on the overwhelmed hospitals.

I *REALLY* want someone to point me in general direction of these "overwhelmed" hospitals
Toronto, Halton, Hamilton all look a-ok to me (under used imo)

I suppose one day I will need to drive up to Bovaird
*sighs*

I swear if I can be bothered I will take pictures
There are not even any massage places that far north....
