And at the very most, the cops may make me return your keys. At the very least they'd applaud me for being a concerned citizen.

BTW: that's a mighty big "if" as in IF you were not impaired. Unless you had a pocket breathalizer, there would be no way for you to know with any type of accuracy.

You may "feel" like you're not impaired, but that is no way to actually determine if you are or not. As is plainly stated in that link I posted: after ONE drink, your judgement is impaired. So, would you risk a DUI or warning charge? Seems like you would, and would only be too happy to risk it.

Which is why we need laws like this on the books, for people JUST like you.

In addition, I bet you missed those ads the police were running that plainly stated: if you suspect someone is driving while impaired, call this number. So if they are advertising that citizens should be calling to have them stop suspected drivers, do you really REALLY think they'd do ANYTHING to me for taking your keys? LOL I don't think so......

Even the same person could break down alcohol from one day to the next.

For eg: back when I drank and was charged with the warning, 12 hr suspension I had a light beer at dinner at 6 pm. We went to a dance club at 9 pm, I had one beer when we arrived. We danced for 4 hrs and at 12:30 my date had a shot of bailey's. There was a little left in the bottom so I swirled it with my tongue. At 2:15 am I left the parking lot and was stopped. I blew a warning. At the time I weighed 175, had a huge dinner, and danced my ass off all night. When we were at the club I was drinking a bottle of water an hour (at least).
I'm calling bullshit on that story.
2 beers over eight hours - a 175 lb guy... and you blew a warning? Find me a medical authority who thinks its even remotely possible, and I'll buy you a new car.
If you had gargled with the Baily's right before the test, you might have enough residual alcohol in your mouth to affect the machine, but your tall tale has more to do with denial, than metabolizing alcohol.

wouldn't the police use as much force on you they think is justified? including tasering you?

If when they asked me to return the keys and I told them to go fuck themselves, spit at them, took a swing at them, then yeah, I'd fully expect them to use whatever force is necessary to subdue me.

But see, that's the difference between me and the people in the videos shown here portraying "police brutality". If a cop tells me to do something, I'll pretty much do it unless it will cause me more physical harm than resisting them will......

Yeah, Robert Dziekanski did all of those at the Vancouver airport.

He also threw a computer monitor at them and I also think he threw a chair, as well as ignore their warnings to stop, and get down.

But of course everyone ignores that......

He never threw anything at them. Not even the stapler that the RCMP lied about.

BS, on the video he distinctly threw a computer monitor and I know he picked up a chair but whether or not he threw it at them or just threw it, I can't remember......

You seem to have difficulty with reality and facts.

He used chairs to prop open the one-way doors between a Customs clearing area and a public lounge and at one point threw a computer and a small table to the floor before the police arrived.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Dziekański_Taser_incident

He was disruptive and non-compliant and deserved to be taken down by force.
2 cops should have been able to easily do this.

I don't know why 4 RCMP cops needed to taser him, especially 5 times, the last ones while he was down.

The RCMP tried to suppress the video evidence and the owner had to go to court to get it back.

The RCMP repeatedly claimed that 3 cops were there when it was 4.

The RCMP claimed that they couldn't use pepper spray because of danger to bystanders but none were close to being in harms way.

The RCMP claimed that batons were not used but this was contradicted by the video.

The RCMP claimed that Dziekanski continued to throw things and yell and scream after they arrived but this was also revealed to be false by the video.

Sorry at 1:19 he threw the monitor in front of the cops, (as you can hear on the video) and a little later he picked it up and looked to throw it at the cops (the first ones, not the ones that tasered him).

BTW: what does this have to do with drinking and driving?

Nothing, but it is another fine example of your tboy logic and credibility. :p
Just shows you how .....<put in description here> you are, how are cops tasering someone in vancouver a year ago any example of my logic and credibility?

Now my response to Red's post is.....and yeah, fighting with 4 people with guns and tasers IS logical? Or is that an example of Malibrook idiocy?

He did not throw anything at the cops.

He did not look to throw anything at the cops.

He could have easily been taken into custody by 4 RCMP cops without being tasered even once.
They tasered him 5 times and killed him.

Trying to justify the actions of those 4 RCMP officers in that situation is illogical, especially when done with misinformation and no facts.

I am not surprised that you don't understand any of this.

If you want to talk further on this subject, please open another thread. This one is about the new drinking and driving charges TYVM.

But you really ought to learn to read: In my posts you quoted I specifically stated in black and white: Sorry he threw the monitor IN FRONT OF THE COPS (the first ones.....). What part of THAT don't you understand?

As for justifying the actions, I believe the incident was investigated and the officers were cleared.....So, their actions WERE justified, I don't have to justify anything.

But I'll repeat here what I said in that thread: I bet you ANY amount of money if someone was in YOUR house trashing your flat panel TV, your computer monitor, your furniture, and acting insane, you'd want the cops to stop him instead of just talking nicely to him.

You don't even understand your own bullshit. :D

Are you trying to be thick or does this come naturally to you?

Did you watch the video?

at the 1:16 mark he picked up what looked like a monitor and threw it. You can distinctly hear someone on the video saying: "right in front of the cops"

"right in front of the cops" means in clear view of the cops.
It doesn't mean it landed at their feet.

They were nowhere near him at the time.
They were not even in the same room.

After watching the video again, the cops seem even more unprofessional and trigger-happy than I remembered.

It depends on your weight and gender. According to this calculator a 190 lb man can drink three beers in one hour and still be under .05. I stick to the one light (4%) beer per hour rule and have never had a problem.

http://www.insure.com/articles/carinsurance/blood-alcohol-calculator.html

Edit: That calculator is for American beer. 3 American beers = 2 Canadian (5%) beers.
You have to be careful the US beers alcohol (if it is even on the label) are in % by weight and canadian beers are in % by volume and are not directly comparible. some american beers have almost the same alcohol as ours. don't get caught because you generalized.

LOL you're stretching it....really.

But you never answered me: if someone came into your home, picked up your computer monitor and threw it, picked up your furniture and started throwing it around the room, and otherwise started acting crazy would you want them to stop him or sweat talk him into maybe stopping?
