According to the Star article, Lemieux states that her breasts are in fact real. She states that she began taking hormone replacement therapy 2 years ago which led to excessive breast tissue growth:
“According to a recent New York Post article, Lemieux claimed her oversized breasts are real. She said she wasn’t transgender, but was born intersex and that two years ago began to transition and started hormone replacement therapy, which led to excessive breast tissue growth, a rare undiagnosed condition called gigantomastia.”
So I Googled “Gigantomastia“ and Wikipedia says this:

Not necessarily. If she was taking estrogen shots as part of his transition he may well have started to develop breasts…although this would obviously be an extreme reaction…but it’s possible.
The article says Lemieux has no medical documentation to prove any of this which makes her claims suspect; but we don’t know for sure.
What if, hypothetically, Lemieux was not taking the hormone replacement therapy under medical supervision. Is it possible to purchase estrogen online? Could she travel to Mexico, buy it legally at a pharmacy, come back to Canada and self-administer her own estrogen shots in a reckless manner causing an extreme reaction? We don’t know without a doctor’s report and she is obviously is not obligated to provide one.

I believe I said this somewhere above but at the risk of being repetitive: I believe people who make bomb threats are a far bigger problem than Kayla Lemieux’s size ZZ allegedly fake boobs.

The parents/community can have “input” but the HDSB makes the final decision. I assume that the HDSB would usually do what the trustees ask them to but in this instance they are saying no and the trustees are furious.
I also saw an article earlier in this thread that the HDSB is bringing in an outside consultant to review the dress code policy. This sounds like another stalling tactic to me; they are just going to keep stringing the trustees along until the end of the semester. I’m not saying I agree with this but it looks to me like that’s what they’re doing.
