If that's what you got out of it then that's what you got out of it. As they used to say in the old country:"There are people and there are door knobs".
That's exactly what I got out of it because that is all that is there.

Also, since we have no biases, we should mention that six out of ten Americans believe that guns make them safer. It's nice to see kids worked up about something.
Ask the right question first. So many want 18 year old's to be able to buy assault rifles, or use bump stock's ?

Again. It doesn't matter. That's just cosmetics- and that is all the majority of the electorate will ever allow.

I'm wholly unimpressed that you don't realize that maturity tends to change people's outlook.
When are the NRA Snowflakes gonna mature and value their children more than their guns?

David Hogg & the Gun Geek Gang are upset they have to wear clear backpacks & name tags to school now LOLLLLL.

Weren’t they JUST complaining that ANY kind of change would be positive?

How does it feel to be universally punished by one person’s crazy actions?!!

Gotta hand it to him though, David media Hogg outdid Obama as the best gun salesman ever, but his 15 minutes are about up.

And as they March for “Our Lives” remember all the lives SAVED by a Good Guy with a gun. ALL LIVES MATTER. Even those who are still here because someone knew how to use a weapon & has the right to own it!!
You need to be scared of these kids. They are taking on the NRA. The NRA is scared of them as well.

These kids aren't going away. They are planning to make it a midterm election issue in all states.

So be afraid of teenagers as you clutch to your guns.

Pathetic.

Problem is that the NRA and their relationship with the Republicans is all about bribery and corruption. No wonder even when children's lives are in danger, this whole financing system ties up the hands of the politicians.
The President himself who promised the children to raise the purchase of guns age to 21 years and also to ban the sale of weapons to anyone with mental disorders is now proving to be a pussy. All he does is wanting to ban bump stocks which should never have been available to the gun purchasers in the first place.

Very impressive March thanks to these passionate students who witnessed these massacres at first hand. No doubt that they will not let it rest there, and they should go out and vote unlike the 2016 elections when a substantial number of Americans just stayed away from the polls and have regretted it.

After today's March for Our Lives the sun may be finally setting on the power of the NRA. I hope these fantastic and inspiring young people will maintain their momentum.

So a conservative teen will become a liberal adult?

When children have more impact on a free market than guns.

The root of the NRA position is not the 2nd amendment. That is a smokescreen. It is all about profits for the gun industry.

That is what it is all about. Profits before safety.

Last year Harvey was the king of Hollywood.

Things change my friend. The fact you know Highs name is a big tell. He has been challenging and mocking the NRA. He is making them look bad. By focusing on them there is a good chance he can diminish their power.

No today and not tomorrow.

But he isn't going away. He is a good looking articulate kid who is quite fearless. That the NRA has directed numerous attacks against him and he has grown as a result makes him quite dangerous.

Somehow I think college will wait for him. And actuvudm will be his focus for a bit.

Feel free to be complacent.

There are already background checks in place, and everyone knew that the Florida shooter was a potential threat, yet he was able to obtain and possess a weapon.....
You are stating the exact reason the laws need to be changed.

The US background check system (for the situations where it is even required) omits numerous factors and allows states to decide if they even put the information in.

And thanks for admitting that there is no way for US law to remove guns from people identified as potential threats. His mental health issues should have denied him access to guns and there should be a mechanism to remove guns from people but neither are part of American law.

p.s. You do realize that the right to bear arms was not part of the constitution right? It was something that at a later date people decided to amend which means that it can be amended again. And of course a background check system that works, a real national registration system, and the ability to remove guns from criminals and the mentally ill do absolutely nothing to infringe on the rights of "law abiding" owners.

Well Sandy Hook proved that the rights of red blooded psychopaths to bear arms takes precedent over our duty to keep our children safe. The NRA should join forces with Trump's good people and teach these miscreants a lesson. Fascism was not built on Tiki Torches alone.

Trump says that mental illness needs to helped and at the same time cutting funding to the program.

It absolutely infringes when it can arbitrarily decide who is a "criminal" or "mentally ill". Example, (insert specific gun here) is now unlawful to own, if you own one, you're a criminal. Good thing there's now a government watch list that allows people to be criminalized.

Exactly. As soon as the law passes the FBI are going to search every residence and charge people on the very first day.

This is a left wing conspiracy sponsored by north east billionaires so that they will not even allow a grace period for people to voluntarily turn in the illegal guns. Fuck fairness, we want to take away everybody's rights and this is how it is going to start.

I'm beginning to wonder if there is a direct inverse correlation between being a right wing gunner and the ability to think with even a modicum of logic.

I hear Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon offered him an internship though, he should fit right in with those guys.

He's been formally invited to a debate with one of his classmates Kyle Kashuv.

Hey @davidhogg111 you seem really fired up about gun control

Lets debate, one Parkland student to another

I'm in DC right now
Would love to see Hogg take his fellow student up on his offer. So far, crickets!

Courts and medical professionals have that job already and it's not arbitrary. A law could easily define which mental health issues pose a significant risk or apply only to people where the medical professionals believe there is a real risk of violence.

Your real complaint is that you've bought into the NRA myth that all gun laws are just an attempt by the government to take your guns.

You'd have to jump through a lot of mental hoops to come to the conclusion that it's a myth. You don't like a particular firearm, you want to create a government watch list of anyone who owns that firearm, so you can decide to take it away at a future date and the end game isn't confiscation? Give me a fucking break.
