Traders never retire. Once you start trading, you can not stop. It helps if you can win more trades than you lose. The traders that stop are the ones that run out of money in their accounts.
But you can eat, drink, read, exercise and fuck during different times of the day. Not necessarily in that order. You can’t eat all day; you can’t drink all day, you can’t have sex all day.
I agree and I'd go even farther and say let's stop calling it "work" at this point. Stay "busy"... that's the key. If it means a part time gig at Home Depot or volunteering somewhere, it's a reason to get out of bed and feel useful. Hobbies also provide the same sense of purpose and if you can make some cash with your hobby that's a bonus. At least that way you can turn your hobbies into a "project based" little business where you do things on your terms. Then... there's also a big beautiful world out there waiting for you to discover. Most people i know continue to work. My grandfather worked until he died. Overseeing things at the office. Not really running things, just popping in and making decisions. Making sure people remembered his face.
My mother retired a decade ago and still worked.
I know more people who work at least part time.
It's hard to just stop working.
