The admin does not need to address you. This is his board. It is a private board. This is the way his software works. It is up to the user to accept this or not. There is no 3rd option of changing it because tiny Winkie says so.

Given I believed I had done what I could to minimize notices was my mistaken assumption and I am to blame. Not familiarizing myself with settings is also my mistake. Having minimized all things that I can do, and still getting emails....not so sure. I could take another risk and set up a private separate and anonymous email(but I believe that could be very hard to explain) if somehow the was discovered. That's all

Ask via pm admin to have you account deleted, any terb mail send to junk mail. Set up a hotmail account, using an alias of course, and sign on again.
To answer the OP's question... I have been using Vbulletin sites for years, and I am a member of a number of different boards, but I have never rec'd a warning that my PM box is "almost" full. Full yes, complete with the member's handle that tried to send me a PM, but never "almost" full.
Like SPJ said, its best just to clear them out once you've read them. If there is something you wanna keep for some reason, simply copy and paste it and e-mail it to yourself. (Make sure you use your anonymous account though...)
