Really folks, this stuff is not rocket science.

It takes about 3 minutes to make and secure an anonymous e-mail account. (Make sure you don't use your real name when it asks you...) Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, all good choices and very easy to set up.

Get a hobby phone. Also easy to set up... pay as you go. And also obviously anonymous. (and therefore untraceable!)

If you have an SO at home... make sure you also have your browser set to clear history/ cookies and cache when you close... that way- no one can retrace your steps.

That should pretty much cover it.

Thank you. I bet half of the guys on this site do not use an anonymous email account. Just a regular Gmail or hotmail.

You're probably wrong. I bet most guys use an alias email account, and that could be hotmail, gmail or any number of free services.

There is an option to receive email notifications when you get a private message, also another one when your box is full... however there is no option to get a notification saying your inbox is 90% full!!!

If you got an email saying your box is 90% full then I should sue Fred because I get three times the inbox space than you BUT do not receive a notification of my inbox being ALMOST full AND my account is a paid advertiser account!

Happy hobbying,

Don Ron

Given his attitude, why are we trying to help the OP? I bet everyone else has figured it out.

I have found it is a bad idea to bet against stupidity, so I won't take your bet.

But come on, the clear solution has now been provided, go create an anonymous account and change your terb email address to it. Problem solved.

@Pipelayer It's your bet to lose and a survey may help. Your basic communication toolbox should include multiple email addresses (for sites and SPs) and a hobby phone (I use an android phone with Vault to hide my messages just in case)

On the web: use your private browsing settings or even better a browser built for it like Terra for iPad (it closes all the windows as soon as you leave the app and never keeps an history). Do not search with google, but use duckduckgo instead as it does not build regional history on your queries. Same goes for the phones.

Car: if you have connected your phone to your car, make sure to disable the feature that reads text aloud. (This one had me sweating buckets once)

Remember that you are not planning your next foursome or buddy trip to Vegas.

Be smart, be safe and enjoy the ride.

@ pipelayer: The easiest solution is to clear some space out of your PM box. Remember that sent items might be stored, as well as ones you've received.

Near the top of the page, directly below the Ottawa and Mississauga escorts links, you'll see a link called Forum Actions. Click on the downward pointing arrow directly to the right, and click on General Settings. Scroll down a little bit in the settings page until you find the Messaging & Notification section. Most likely, the box is checked for "Receive Email from Administrators", which is enabled by default, and you should keep that setting. Farther down, there's a button enabled or disabled for "Email notification of Private Messages"; you may wish to change your current setting.

The Email you got would have been sent automatically when your stored messages approached 30. It's very likely that other members receive the same one every day.

I like the part where, because he forgets to log out of his email, it's TERB's fault.

Just about 2 miles past appropriate
Dude, it's a secured Gmail account. Sometimes I don't log out...
And sometimes you don't wear a rubber and it's TERB's fault you get an STD
And sometimes you leave the keys in the car and it's TERB's fault the car get's stolen.

I apologize for calling you a bad name. You're actually a genuis and TERB is out to get you.

Geez. I'm not sure how I've ever made it through nearly twenty years of sp'ing. Thanks for all the advice. I'm just saying it might be helpful to have a pop up that says "would you like any notifications at all from terb" an easy yes or no would be great. That's all.

And how does creating a new email account not resolve all your concerns?

It certainly would. Maybe I really am the only guy on this board using a Gmail account. I'm also just thinking that maybe for us less computer literate site users something more straightforward might be helpful. Now, I'm going to ask a question that will likely bring on the wrath of all computers geeks present...what specifically is the difference is an "anonymous account" vs just a regular hotmail account using something other than your name obviously? Flame away...
