I'm not sure if you're a professional hack, a heckler, troll or something else.

How can you read an article and come to a conclusion that reno cost is $250-500K??? Unbefcknlivable!

Now READ AGAIN!

US NAVY, Department of Defence was planning to renovate a "school" in a city with Russian Naval Base at cost of $33,500,000 and $250-500K non-construction cost.

Now, in 2022 they have a tender to renovate "schools" and "kindergarten" in Kosovo, Montenegro, Moldova.
So in your opinion, these "schools" and "kindergarten" are secretly really nuclear missile bases?

Proof?

I expect fewer supporters. When you let your war machines roll in to another country that's what you get...

The "annual size standard" of 33.5 million refers to the size of the bidding company, ie they do not want 2 guys with a shovel and dream to bid on the project.

The cost of construction is 250k to 500k.

The solicitation will utilize source selection procedures, which require offerors to submit a technical proposal and past performance, as well as a price proposal for evaluation by the Government. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 236220 and the annual size standard is $33,500,000.The estimated cost of construction is between $250,000 and $500,000. The contractor shall complete all works within 330 calendar days after contract award.
How did that "nation building" pan out in Afghanistan?

In the past I worked with Ukrainians who were originally from Donetsk. They fled because of the dire conditions in Eastern Ukraine. Those in the west live in much better conditions than those in the Donbas region, particularly since the 2014 Crimean annexation. About 40% of the people in Donbas are ethnic Russians and 75% of all residents speak Russian, not Ukrainian.
Many in that area of Ukraine want autonomy and have declared defacto independence as the Republics of Donetsk and Luhansk. I can understand Putin sympathizing with those in Donbas and he sees that region as a strategic ally to Russia. He can also read the writing on the wall, Russia is 2 generations away from severe demise, they need a population infusion.
Still I cannot support Putin's actions he's a strong arm leader and not a diplomat. He didn't come close to exhausting his options to resolve the issues peacefully but he's also smart enough to know he isn't negotiating from a position of strength. The best thing that can happen to Russia is for Putin to step down. Or die. 23 years is far too long in power and its showing in his erratic nature.
Thank you Kdouglas for your post. Yes that is all true.. but also everyone here says democracy and no one even knows what’s that democratic president or should I say IS muppet clown zenelsky promissed to the whole Ukraine and was elected just for that main reason. He promissed to resume talks with rebel regions and Saturday o finally set peace in Donbas. And guess what! He did the opposite.. sent Ukrainian army and supported nazzis to fight there.
Well I guess that’s what most Politicians do and that’s what happened in Russia with most of our previous leaders. Talk the talk and come to power to do one thing—rob people and get rich..
Apparently 1 guy was different. Everything he promised was delivered and than some. And even though nothing will ever justify the loss of lives for me.. and I will never support any military anywhere for whatever reason, I am scared of what’s russia might become if he resigns and someone else comes to power. Democracy in Russia in the 90s the way I remember it…?I’d take communism or Putin over a bunch of thiefs and corrupt fucks any day.

They got a lot of nice schools and hospitals that the Taliban will now prevent the people from accessing?

Say what you like about the US, it does attempt to provide infrastructure.

And 20 years of putting a base for that exchange...that's the cheapest rent I've heard...
