Meh!!!

The role and title of mayor has meant very little to this city for the past decade. Given the fact that a mayor no longer has any real power to run/change this city (everything has to be put before a committee), I'll reserve my excitement until this city's whole political structure is properly revamped. We need a TRUE king, not just a mouth-piece for those impotent gerbils in City Hall.

Get ready for the next round of placation and lip-service.

I think Pinball would be like Mel - a salesman for the city (except he won't put his foot in his mouth so many times). If you want another celeb, Doug Gilmour.
It would be interesting to see how a conservative like Tory would deal with all the Union BS and the unfairness of transfer payments from Toronto to the province.

Doug Gilmour has WAAAAAYYYYYYY too many skeletons rattling around in his closet. He'd make Mel Lastman look like the poster boy for restraint. :D

I wouldn't be surprised if Doug Gilmour was Goober.

Mayor has little power???????? what city have you been looking at?

Everything that goes before a committee is sent there by council, usually to bury something the mayor or his syncophants don't want to vote on.

Such as??

I know he used to (or still does) drink a lot.
And rumors were ex-wife #2 Amy Cable used to strip (dunno if thats true though)
I don't know about the drinking, but Gilmour's always been known as a stick man. Legendary in fact. He didn't leave St. Louis cause he wanted to. He was basically told to get out of town. (It's no big secret, you can google that.)

Wasn't there some incident involving a nanny or housekeeper? Bobby Sheehan also had a reputation as a stickman (off the ice). It probably comes with the territory when one is a pro hockey player.

So that woman I saw sitting next to Dougie at a fairly recent Jays game was not Amy Cable? Dougie could be a future Maple Leaf coach.
Nope, thats wifey #3

This is Amy Cable:

It's a metaphor comparing Gilmour's sexual personae to a hockey stick (and a phalic symbol at that). Boy if my High School English teacher was here now.

:D
