Did Fantino ever express an interest as mayor? Haven't heard much from him lately. How about Bryant, I think he's quite popular now.

I'd like to see someone who isn't seen as from the left or right, an outsider with ideas who can bring different factions together.
The Americans have a different system where the mayor has more power, New York's Mayor Bloomberg is doing amazing work there.
Agree.

We need someone who has a vision of what Toronto could be.

Most of the names bandied around are career politicians with no vision or idea of what a city can be -- just another bunch of bureaucratic talkers (like Steven Harper).

I'd vote for Michael Bryant, despite his Liberal background, although, his recent actions clearly spells BLUE. We need somebody with balls. If Bryant joins the race with Tory, boy, I have a tough decision on hand!

Damn. If those are the choices we have for mayor, maybe it's time to move .... LIKE TO CHICAGO!

Does anyone think any of the existing councillors are ready to be mayor? Like Karen Stinz or Denzil Minnan-Wong or Giorgio Mammoliti or Rob Ford?

God help us.

Could we convince Layton to come back and do double duty? That way he could hold Harper and the minority government hostage and recoup some of the federal money that has been taken away from our fair city.

John Tory or Julian Fantino or Mike Harris even though I voted for the Liberals in the past.

Well Miller will take with him one years salary $167000 as a severance package, this is the same guy who thaught taking a few sick days with an employee was too expensive.
The mayor shouldn't be an employee just an elected employee

Toronto has bigger problems than who is to be mayor. Noteably the estimated 500M deficiet projected for the next budget. As a result I would really like to see a new mayor thatcan
1) tell the special interests NO
2) tell the unions NO
3) tell the councillors who can't add NO

Unfortunatley I really don't think that person exists maybee cloning Hazel.......

The City is broke, the streets are dirty, homeless people everywhere and crime is out of control. Sounds familiar? This was New York City before Rudy Giuliani became mayor. Maybe we can draft Rudy.

Pinball?

He's exactly who I had in mind, I bet he makes a great mayor
And what has he done in his life that makes you think that? I've got nothing against the guy but he's not qualified. I wanted Tory to win the last time he ran. And I hope he gets in this time.
