Now that Mr. Miller is history. It is time to look ahead and not back. Who do you want as the next Toronto mayor? I cast my vote for Chief Bill Blair. (Of course, I really want Aaron Hill but the Jays need him at 2B.)

Well, at least he's progressive for LE:

With that being said, Police in the GTA have enough of a taint over them that I'd much prefer to keep them, or an Law and Order right winger away from the mayor-ship... Give me anybody who represents the high density part of the city, who's socially progressive on most things, and who can both manage to be a good accountant and soft centre left on economic issues.

Do you have a name in mind?
I'm waiting for everybody to get their hats in... In a vacuum I'd likely have voted for Miller a 3rd time... Maybe George Smitherman, though I'd very much prefer somebody not attached to the Liberal Party. Preferably somebody without a declared NDP / Liberal attachment, who has good solid credentials as a social progressive, discernible credentials for management / accounting, and who is on the record as soft centre left on economic issues, and with a good dash of charisma to boot. Edit: Maybe Shelley Carroll? I really have to see.

Ok, I nominate Gen:p. I thought about nominating Kareena but she screwed up the overnighter.

Gen would make sure that nobody bothers consenting adults engaged in "wambo minki" behind closed doors.

1. Doug Holyday.

Holyday is one of the few fiscally responsible members of council and the former mayor of Etobicoke. He knows how to run a city. The big knock against him is that he is from the "suburbs" of Toronto. Well, Miller was from Bloor West Village, and Lastman was from North York.

2. Pinball - why not. The guy is a very decent guy. Whether or not he'd WANT to be mayor is a different story.

I'd like to see someone who isn't seen as from the left or right, an outsider with ideas who can bring different factions together.
The Americans have a different system where the mayor has more power, New York's Mayor Bloomberg is doing amazing work there.
