not always sure...
Florida Panthers in their last 7 games at home are 0-6-1.
If the Leafs hold on to 3rd place and make the playoffs we should send a big thank you card to Sergei Bobrovski because he's the individual who should take the most credit.

It depends on which Leafs team we’re talking about. The team that we’ve seen the last three games fully deserves to be in. Not so much for the one which played Carolina or the first agains Pittsburgh in the last b2b. We saw two different teams in the last 6 games.

It's an 82 game season. Not 7. Playoffs also don't start in November. Leafs also had their long losing streak. When they fired Babs.

Since Sheldon Keefe took the reins, the Maple Leafs have the 5th best record in the NHL.

Nick Robertson scored his 50th goal, in his 43rd game, for the Peterborough Petes, yesterday.
Who is Nick Robertson?

Nine defencemen on the ice at Maple Leafs practice today, the usual suspects plus Cody Ceci and Morgan Rielly.

Either or both of CC83 & MR44 could return as early as next week.

As per Jim Daly, the Upper Cap Limit for the 2020-21 season will be between $84Mm & $88.2Mm.
Let's say it lands around the midpoint, $86Mm.
As of today, the Maple Leafs have $77,771,866 committed to 16 players.
Of the 7 other players needed to fill the roster, only Tyson Barrie & Travis Dermott would likely be over the $1Mm A.A.V. mark.

Nylander draws first penalty driving to the net protecting the puck with a King on his back who has to hold him to take him down.
Don't know where all this Nylander gets knocked off the puck easily comes from. Oh, I know. From someone who doesn't watch hockey.
For the record Nylander was the only Leaf to score in shootout for Leafs. A beauty deke and backhand roof. 9 shots on goal. Was dominant all game with the puck. LA couldn't get the puck off him.

This is the road that I feared for the Leafs, the Cali based teams have been playing better of late, Leafs got 1 point, can't see them winning against The Ducks. Good thing Florida sucked lately too.

Relax Glam. Games could have gone either way. Big picture Andersen played great. He hasn't looked this good in a while now. Leafs are already planning for the playoffs. Giving him rest. Why else would he not play vs SJ.

The big heavy Kings also didn't hit Leafs to oblivion. They played the trap. Quick was fantastic.

The California teams aren’t what they used to be, but they still have some proud veterans and can be very dangerous as spoilers. I did like the Leafs effort overall these past 5 games.

Can’t wait to see how the Leafs will play when Rielly and Muzzin are back playing the way we know they can. With Sandin and Dermott they have a solid core moving forward. When Barrie got here there were speculations that he’d be looking for 8m in a new contract. That must have come from his agent ‘cos I won’t even want him for 4m. He and Ceci are both overpriced and weak defensively. They likely won’t be back. Their replacements will probably come from the Marlies or a big physical d like Manson whom they can trade for with their depth at the wings.

Great goaltending by the Leafs the last 2 games, too bad only 1 point to show for it. Leafs have trouble with heavy teams that play the trap. I saw this road trip coming. Tampa next, maybe things will open up for the Leafs.

Last three games score a total of 3 goals in losing to the 27th, 28th and 30th place teams in the league.
I expect blown out of the first round in 4 ugly games even if they do somehow squeak into the playoffs.

Cant fire the players. Management changes coming for next season.

Immediately prior to the Maple Leafs gathering but 1 point of a possible 6 on their California trip, *this NHL team* gathered 0 points on their excursion to the west coast.

Scores of those games:

Los Angeles 2-1
Anaheim 3-2
San Jose 5-0

This NHL team is (according to bet365) the 8th favourite to win the Stanley Cup.

*Pittsburgh Penguins

Nylander the only Leaf to score in each of last 2 games.
Their power play has now become way too predictable. Easy to stop. They need to use the Pittsburgh model where there is lots of movement to create confusion and set up different plays. It's also one and done. One shot and they don't win the puck battle and they need to skate back and get it back in.
