Sheldon Keefe said Ilya Mikheyev and Kyle Dubas will fly back from New Jersey today. Dubas has remained with Mikheyev the whole time. Keefe said injured winger is doing as well as can be expected and is in good spirits.

Taken from @Kristen_Shilton 's Twitter feed.
Mikheyev has to be the third most popular Leaf after Marner and Matthews. I hope Soupman comes back next year.

Morgan Rielly will not be the only defenceman the Toronto hockey club possesses in the 2020-21 season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs sign D Justin Holl to a 3 Year, $6Mm deal, A.A.V. $2Mm.

That's a huge loss. Marincin in is all you need to know how bad it is.
The old ones were cumbersome, true. But, the manufacturers could replace the leather on the cuff with Kevlar or something to make them more comfortable and still give a definite cut protection. Of course they already wear enough equipment for jousting, nevermind hockey.

Holl is a good signing. Big, mobile and sees ice well, if they only had him work on a shot from the point, he could be a superstar defenseman. Rilley is a fucking liability.

Based on one half season as compared to the rest of his career?
Yeah, I know. Everybody is preoccupied with the scoring when it comes to the D-men, but the ability to retrieve the puck or make the first pass, without interception, or break up a play are not really covered by the "analytics". And he can do those things.

He's petty damn good at carrying the puck out of the zone. No pass required.

He may not be having as good a year as last year, but he is in no way a liability. Any team in the league would take him and make him a top 4.

Looks like Nylander is having a breakout season as he is projecting to score 34 goals and 70 points.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have called up forward Mason Marchment.

Shouldn't RockSlinger be posting in his own Maple Leafs thread?

Though, to be fair, 1 of the links is from November, before the thread was vanished.
The other from before Christmas.

Old News.
Try to contribute something from the 2020's.

That way he can delete the whole thread when his feelings get hurt.

And yet, in the league where the top 4 dmen are worth their weight in gold, Dubas hasn't found a way to move him. As I understand the new style of Dubas management is to always look for improvements. Getting a player who doesn't cough up the puck, every time he's under pressure in his own zone, would be an improvement.

Why in the world would you trade him? One below average (for him) 1/2 season?

Total dumb ass suggestion. Maybe we should also try and improve upon Tavares and Matthews and Marner. Why not Andersen as well?
