Indeed, the evidence actually points to Francis Hopkinson a member of the Continental Congress from New Jersey, and President of the Continental Navy Board. Further there is precious little historical evidence that there ever was a flag of thirteen stars in a circle, the evidence is instead strongly for a canton of 3-2-3-2-3.
Oh further, I don't believe there is any contemporary portrait of Elizabeth Ross.

No, not her. But they do look similar. Better guess than Aunt Jemima for certain.
Definitely a lot of similarity between Sojourner Truth (above) and Harriet Tubman (below).
When one only knows people through photographs, some photographs just plain look more like most of the rest than others do. That one to me looks more like http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a0/Harriet_Tubman_late_in_life3.jpg than it does http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sojourner_truth_c1870.jpg.
Age of course also comes into play.
Cue stick, to me, would be either Willie or Fats and it certainly wasn't the Fat Man.
