I have the ultimate solution!!!

Peel the tab back then force it down inside the cup instead of trying to clip it to the lid...works like a charm and you are less likely to spill it down your chin while driving.

Steve
Excellent advice! I've been doing this for years and it vertually eliminates accidental spills. A lot of negative energy over a decent coffee served by people earning minimum wage rather than collecting welfare. Where else can you take a family of 4 for a quick lunch, decent food and for about $25. I like Timmys! Yea I said it, and they never fuck up my order!

don't make fun of me but if you use a straw to drink your coffee, no more spills. and so easy to drink without cutting your lip on the edge of the lid. ever been driving and had to turn the cup around looking for the hole with your toungue? never again. ever spilled it out on your lap at night cause you thought the hole was oriented properly? never again! free advice. there.

So many people bitch about the service they get at Timmie's yet keep going.... wtf do they put in their coffee that addicts you so badly you will continue to go somewhere you are getting bad service?

Some comments...

* I hope they're not going to true Interac (debit) service... the lines are long enough as it is!

* I'll have to try that idea of bending the tab down into the cup. That sounds like a good idea!

* The OP missed my greatest beef: the inconsistency of the cream dispenser. All too often my coffee is too dark (usually, almost always the machine is running low on cream) or too light (sometimes, but usually the fault of the person making the coffee). Nothing worse than getting coffee that's too dark for my liking!

* McDonalds is having its lunch eaten by Tim Hortons.

I get a coffee/tea and bagel at Tim Horton's around 2-3 days per week. Been doing so for years now. I can count on one hand the # of times they have screwed up my order. I can't say that for any other fast food outlet. McDonald's is absolutely the worst. If I get breakfast from there over half the time the order is wrong (hash brown missing, forget salsa or ketchup packages or milk for my tea).

Not for me, albeit not gutsy and loaded enough to sell short Timmy's share while buying long on MCD.

As mentioned, Timmy's is a rip-off.

That's true Interac service.

Having said that, I suspect Interac Flash, aka Visa paywave/MasterCard paypass clone is going to be rolled out and installed to the terminals at Timmy's soon.

Yep.

If my memory serves me right, Timmy's is dumb enough to replace the original cream vendor to save cost, while MCD immediately hires the same cream vendor for their coffee. I could be wrong but not going to be surprised if this turns out to be true.

Different market but not going to be surprised McDonald's is not only holding their own but slowly and surely eat Timmy's lunch as McDonald's have very decent "healthy" menus available.

Been to Timmy's, albeit not my favorite but what could I do since I was with my supervisor. As usual the coffee is a rip-off and the taste on their McDonald's Muffin and hash brown wannabe are off.

McDonald's is absolutely the worst. If I get breakfast from there over half the time the order is wrong (hash brown missing, forget salsa or ketchup packages or milk for my tea).
That's funny. The McDonald's I patron are very good and very consistent on getting the orders right every time. My only beef would be like right now the line is kinda long due to buy one get one free coupon promotion. Still they are holding their own quite well.

BTW, you could always submit complaints by filling in their survey in the website indicated on the receipt. ;)

Yeah but they do have iced coffee that's better than Timmies IMHO.
+1, McD iced coffee is larger in size and cheaper than the rip-offs at Timmies.

Having said that, ROLO flavored iced coffee at McD is yucky.
