History shows that the oligarch types see through the "strong man" types and know they are morons, thus always feel superior to them. Therefore, they support the would-be dictators because they feel they can control or manipulate them. But history shows once the strongman feels his power he coopts the rich, or crushes them and/or loots them of their wealth. If they resist its gaol (and confiscation) or an accidental fall out a window.

Its good to be sceptical Eddie. So, lets start with every analysis by historians of the rise of Hitler, Mussolini, Putin, etc shows this. If you wish to read up try William L. Shirer's "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich", "Strongman" by Ruth ben-Ghiat, or any book by Timothy Snyder or by Brian Klaas.
So, have a read then let's discuss further. I was a history minor in uni and wrote a paper on the rise of totalitarianism and all this was known back in the 80s, and its repeated itself now and these authors/award winning historians have noted the same patterns.
