No no i do agree with you. Many wildfires, floods, storm, invasions of seaweeds, etc... are happening more frequently due to our, human, impact on climate changes. We are indeed an accelerator of those.

The problem is that whatever we do climate will still change. And many arrogant Idiots are not capable of grasping that. By that i simply mean reducing our impact on climate change.
Can't cope with the convoluted logic right now. Maybe after breakfast...
Nope, still makes no sense. The threat is negative impacts of climate change and lack of effective measures so far. This is the hottest year on record, ever. Further increases just increase the risk. There still might be nice sunny days in the future - just a lot fewer...

There are plenty of effective measures to combat climate change. For example, if constituents of particular ridings complain to their local Liberal MPs that the carbon tax has made things unaffordable, and there's a threat of losing the next election, simply exempt them from paying the carbon tax. That effective measure will demonstrate how important combating climate change is and at the same time, ensure re-election of a party that takes climate change seriously.

paying extra tax on non discretionary purchases (home heating, growing / transporting food, getting to work. etc) will not reduce consumption.
The carbon tax is just a wealth redistribution ponzi scheme , with the govt taking a 10% to20% slice of he pie

the idea that mankind can control the planets non-linear, dynamic and chaotic climate system is pure hubris and absurd

If that's true, survival in the long run is absurd as well...

You have to admit, the carbon tax scheme is brilliant on several levels.
- it has successfully been marketed as a "feel good" tax. One simply pays it and thinks they are helping to improve the environment.
- anyone who speaks out against it is essentially ostracized and labelled a "climate change denier"...i.e. typical leftist bully tactic
- Unlike school, no one needs to show you how the math works. No mathematical equation that demonstrates how every dollar collected actually impacts climate.
- in many cases, you pay it without even knowing it, which removes it from view as a constant reminder you are being ripped off. It's transparent but present. Like carbon monoxide.

Not only that, it actually accomplishes its goal to get people off burning dead dinosaurs.

How many times do we pay a carbon tax upon a tax upon a etc. ....when we get produce from a farm to the grocery store? Everything that harvests or flies or floats and all trucks require fuel. Last week I heard a mushroom farmer from around Ottawa saying he will pay 173 thousand dollars in carbon tax alone in `23. It will increase to 450 fucking grand annually when Trudeau finishes his carbon tax shitshow. How many farmers will just pack it in?

You mean the $50 rebate cheque they'll get after all that won't help?

But again...brilliant scheme...kill off local production...everything then needs to be imported and charged duties, which get downloaded to the consumer who in turn pays more taxes based on the higher price of goods.

I often chuckle when a Liberal says "the carbon tax rebates will make everything cost-neutral". hahaha they are so easily played while brainwashed to think it's actually for the environment.

ps since you are calling this tax a shitshow...you are officially a climate change denier...and a racist.

Shame on you.
