Most of the people on welfare are born right here in Canada. These able bodied Canadians are on average more obese than the general population, but choose not to work for various reasons, but some are sex workers.
Wrong. These people in general have a choice to go to a grocery store and buy whole foods and cook. Last time I checked a bag of potatoes and carrots along with other things don't cost as much. If they are constantly eating processed things and junk nobody forced them to did they? A bunch of marketing telling uneducated folks this is great for them when many others eat that stuff in moderation or a lot less to none. How many also spend hours not working and just glued on electronics or doing a bit of socializing while enjoying a certain substance. In regards to stress/anxiety because perhaps they get crapped on at work they could have gone to school and focused and better themself like others in welfare who bettered themself or immigrants who tend to bust their butt to make it in North America. The impact overly chemical foods have on the brain is well known. People like that have the choice to get up in the morning and boil water to make very simple healthy meals or use an oven to roast things. The ones who don't push themself or learn how to sell to other consumers stay generally where they are. There's lots of stories about people who made it out of poverty. As for some kids with brain development issues because mommy and daddy took substances and had unplanned kids well blame mommy and daddy for those bad choices. Once again did they not have the free will choice of not buying booze or have unprotected sex? The comment on hand doesn't even relate to those who are against abortion or those who were raped and still wanted to have kids. Those numbers in general I'd say are relatively lower than others making bad choices in life. I also worked my way out of poverty along with at times working min wage jobs. The amount of adults still buying heavily chemical infested junk like gummy candy and chocolate bars then laugh about it. Then they bitch about their dental and other health and expect government handouts along with others who are wealthier to help them out often.

Ontario residents on Ontario Works often are not required to pay back an OSAP loan as an incentive for them to study and get employment so that can get taxed and not remain on social assistance.
