Agree. Roy was a phenomenal coach in junior hockey with the Quebec Rempart. Winning a lot even the Canadian memorials cup. But it does not seem to work magic with the millionaire player of the NHL. Players of today do not have the will and devotion Roy had in his days.

That wouldn’t totally surprise me…Roy would have to leave the Islanders, like have a spat with Islander ownership or management, that I believe will happen some day.
Apparently, in some recent interactions with the media he insinuated he's not getting enough talent to work with from management.

Nah they won’t. Roy is too temperamental for Montreal.
The Habs need somebody to kick the shit out of them, he’d be the right temperament.
The Habs are in a rebuild that should have started years ago. While their prospect pool is deep, they need two things before they will be back in playoff contention. First, their young defense core needs to mature and second they need an actual starting goalie.
As for the seething Leafs fans, the Habs made it to the finals three years ago after they beat the Leafs in the first round. Is it another first round exit this year?

They are objectively better than they were when they won the draft lottery, that said they aren't that much better...loosing their two best players in Price and Webber will do that to a team. Nobody ever said it was going to be a smooth ride, just look at other teams who are going through rebuilds. Teams like Utah, Buffalo, Ottawa or Detroit have needed a long time to drag themselves out of a rebuild. In the case of Buffalo and Utah, they hadn't even gone out of their rebuild before they blew the team up and started from scratch again. At the end of the day, I am confident Montreal will be back in the finals again before the Leafs make it out of the second round
Strange thing is, Ballard only had majority ownership of the leafs from the early 70's until his death in 1990, almost 20 years. During that term there were three dynasties that ruled the game, the Habs in the mid to late 70's, the Islanders in the early 80's and the Oilers in the mid to late 80's. 15 out of 20 years where it was difficult for the majority of teams to win a cup. Now it has been 35 years since his death and the team has failed to even make it to the finals. During this period there have been 12 new teams to win the cup (Pens, Stars, Devils, Avalanche, Lightning, Canes, Ducks, Kings, Caps, Blues, Knights and Panthers).
