No Markov, no Schnieder and a loss to the lowly Senaturds - your glorious hab-nots will be in 9th place after they lose to the NYR, Boston and Pens!Les_Habitants said:Maple Laughs ... bring it on tonight.

How did you enjoy that game last night? My B's sent your Hab-Nots a message that they are going to pound on them, if they meet in the playoffs. The only reason the game was close is because Boston took some very undisciplined penalties. Lucic for one, but considering who he went after, good for him. At one time I think Komisarek's face was the same shade of red as what is on his uniform, he took so many punches to the face. Chara fed him at least half a dozen. Ryan O'Byrne is another punk-ass like Sean Avery. He threw a shoulder into Thornton on a line change then covered up like a turtle.Les_Habitants said:The "Drive for Twenty-Five" is Alive ... nos Habitants are in the post-season.

I hardly see what is so impressive about Boston toughness last night, not to say they are not a tougher team..blueline said:How did you enjoy that game last night? 11 out of a possible 12 points in the TD Bruins Bank at the expense of the Hab-Nots. Please visit again.![]()
Hab-Nots fans shouldn't be worried about Thomas, they have their own goaltending problems. Price will never lead them to the promised land like Roy or Dryden did. TT will not win many points for style, but he gets the job done. He was a big reason the series went 7 games last year because Montreal was a much more talented team. Not so this year - Boston is much more balanced than in 2008. Kovalev is arguably the best player (most talented, anyways) on the ice when he decides to show up and that line can be dominant (Koivu and Tanguay), along with the PP. If B's stay disciplined and keep Hab-Nots PP off the ice, they will be okay. The Bandit said:And Cary Prix doesn't????![]()
I guess you missed O'Turtle (O'Byrne) in the recent Sens game where he took 6 'ridiculously undisciplined' PIMs and could have cost his team a spot in the playoffs. Then I also guess you were not impressed with the physical play of one Patrice Bergeron who thumped Maxim Lapierre and gained control of the puck, passing off to Recchi for the winning goal. Nope - physical play had nothing to do with that win.maurice93 said:I hardly see what is so impressive about Boston toughness last night, not to say they are not a tougher team..
A dominant tough performance, is a team that asserts its toughness without having to take endless amount of undisciplined penalties to do so.
That game hardly sent a message because Boston could not use there toughness without being ridiculously undisciplined.

O'Turtle and Hab Nots. What are you nine? Possibly - your comprehension and logic seem to be at that level..blueline said:I guess you missed O'Turtle (O'Byrne) in the recent Sens game where he took 6 'ridiculously undisciplined' PIMs and could have cost his team a spot in the playoffs. For part of one period they were taken off their game, but Julien righted the ship in the 3rd period and they came right back for the win.
The B's definitely sent a message that let the Hab-Nots know it was going to be a long, hard-fought battle for the point they needed to back into the playoffs, and of how it would be in the playoffs (if they meet).
This was a meaningless game for B's, who were already Eastern Conf Champs (gee I like the sound of that) and it was time to lay a few beatings on some of the Hab-Nots. Komisarek's hit on Lucic, while not dirty (it did though, draw an interference penalty) was still pretty cowardly. Lucic had his back to Komisarek and never saw the hit coming, so he (Komi) wins no points for courage. Looch did over react and there was no need to take 14 PIMs, but he got his message across - you want to play that way, bring it on.
O'Turtle deserves a beating after that very dirty hit on Chuck Kobasew earlier in the season in the final seconds of the game...but then again, what do you expect from a purse snatcher?
How will Gainey counter in a possible playoff meeting? Dress Laraque and put him on the top line to chase Lucic around? Play O'Turtle (err O'Byrne) 25 minutes a game? Like Garry Galley said the other night, 'I doubt he (Laraque) even knows there is a puck on the ice'.
B's will learn from that game that they can't take undisciplined penalties agains the Hab-Nots PP. Shut down the PP and the series will end quickly and it will be time to blow out the 100 candles.
big deal, you snuck into 8th place - Boston will take you out in 4 straight, which means golf season will start soon for your hab-notsLes_Habitants said:we are now in the 2009 Play-Offs.
But, I guess Maple Laffs and Losers Even After Forty (some-odd) Seasons is material we would get from someone from Mensa?maurice93 said:O'Turtle and Hab Nots. What are you nine? Possibly - your comprehension and logic seem to be at that level..
Last time I checked, the B's won the game. They pounded on Hab-Nots the entire game, from the opening whistle to the final goal. The message was pretty clear - expect to be hit and be hit some more. Again, I don't know why you are so blind, that you can't see how physicality played a major role in the win. B's lost control for a very short period of time. Shit happens from time to time. Lucic is a very emotional player and can get a little too excited from time to time. No need to jump Komi at that moment. He already took care of him earlier in the season. No biggie. I guess O'Turtle was just playing a tough physical game by hitting an unsuspecting Thornton on a line change. Just like when he nearly took Kobasew's head off in an earlier game. Funny how you made no mention of how stupid he was and how he was in the box for a B's PP goal.maurice93 said:The fact is you harp on how the Bruins sent a message but how did they exactly send that message. By getting penalties and getting burned.
Agreed, that they can't play like they did for a few minutes in the second period. However, again, it was effective enough to win the game (see the game winning goal). Message = play physical, win game. Bergeron flattens Lapierre, takes puck, dishes to Recchi who scores. Seems to have worked, wouldn't you say? Sounds pretty logical to me. Now, who has the comprehension of a nine year old? Save for a few minutes when Lucic lost his head, some of the Hab-Nots were not a whole lot smarter.maurice93 said:The Bruins can't play like that again or they know they will get burnt. Seems someone else proved a point and the Bruins realized there game of "messages" is not that effective 0 but hey logis is hard for someone who speaks like a nine year old
I hope you are right GH, but I worry about a B's - HabNots matchup only because of what has happened on many other occasions. B's are a much better team than they were last season and having a game seven at home could work in their favour. Much like it worked for the HabNots last year. You never know, once 21,000 white flag waving, anthem booing pyromaniacs go beserk, it might be enough to decide the outcome. Besides, Kovalev will be well rested going into the playoffs. He only played, what, maybe 15-20 games all season.gladheateher said:big deal, you snuck into 8th place - Boston will take you out in 4 straight, which means golf season will start soon for your hab-nots
Les_Habitants said:Last night, nos Habitants accomplished what they had to. Period.
We did not have Georges Laraque nor Gregory Stewart in our line-up for the game against the Bruins. Without any of our tough guys, the Bruins may have dominated the game's physical play, but they paid for it in the end … the Bruins took more penalties and nos Habitants scored three power-play goals. As a result, we are now in the 2009 Play-Offs.
The Drive for Twenty-Five is Alive !!!

As it is right now, that's the match up. Montreal plays Pittsburgh tomorrow, Rangers play Philly on Sunday. Rangers have the tie breaker so they would finish 7th.The Bandit said:Why is everyone talking about the Habs playing the Bruins, they could end up facing Washington.
