easy. let's try and not start a riot. ;)

Also Aloha, your team is going to be even stronger in '09... they are one of the few that isn't going to be strapped under the cap and also don't have much in the way of UFA or RFA issues...

Don't be saying things like that. Do you want more of these 'Quest for the 25th Stanley Cup' threads from frenchy? It has been fairly quiet around here without him, save for the last post he made. Don't give him any more ammo for the summer. ;)

i'm pretty sure he's still drowning his sorrows in cheap poutine from La Belle Province... or at a local Pizzeria Stratos chain ... ie, Le Roi de la Poutine!

not much to do for a habs fan but lay back and get fat this summer. all the movements are going to be going on elsewhere in the N. but, i'm sure the rumours will fly... something like- Mats Sundin wants to play for Montreal or something ;)

There are different eras and generations of hockey and the Canadiens have not won the Cup since 1993. Granted, they are the most successful NHL hockey club in history but when expansion came into play after 1979, the Habs won the Cup twice. Not exactly a dynasty I would say.

It is very difficult (especially with the salary cap) to win the cup and that's why the NHL has had three different winners the last three years and there will be a fourth different winner in the same amount of years this season.

Parity is much closer now than ever.

He can go jump in a lake as well, if he continues.....

once again the huet trade made sense. Talks are on with addittions and half the unrestricted free agents will sign again.

As stated this is a new NHL and for a team that was not even expected to make playoffs not a bad saeson. Best team in Canada. I said from the start they could not make the cup or get by Pittsburg. Now watch next yr will once gain see Montreal put a strong team on the ice and hopefully get even deeper into playoffs.

hmm

2009-2010 - UFA's
Koivu I was not impressed expected to resign
Kovalev there going be better players for $$$ hossa comes to mind
Komisareck not going any where
Begin who cares
Dandenault who cares
Bouliion might get better and going cheap
Kostopulous already signed and watch this German kid still young.
Of the above only the 1st three are of any significance

RFA's
Higgins is staying
Plekanec ???
Latendresse ???

Considering not many, actually very few, " quality " players want to play in Montreal, it looks like Gainey will have to start the rebulding process soon

That girl does not know her hockey like she claims, she has made lots of errors in the past, I just always have a good laugh

Btw, Kovalev is great my dear

Oh ya....Koivu was the reason why the powerplay was #1 n the NHL, not impressed?

Your glorious habitants are only 2 points ahead of 7th place and with a 6 game road trip coming up, montreal will be in 9th place pretty soon

ole ole ole !!!
As long as they do not finish 8th while the Bruins finish 1st (if they continue their winning ways, that is). Too many times, I have been reminded of the playoff history between Montreal and Boston.

Oh yea - that Glen Metropolit acquisition from today just put them over the top. It's not every day you can pick up a four goal scorer. Plan the fire route, errrr I mean the parade route.

Perhaps not phoney, but he appears to be in for the good times and disappears when the bad times hit the Habs. What a true Habs supporter Les_Habitants is!!! LOL!!!
