All Maple leafs Management care about is selling out the Air Canada Center and as long as they keep doing that with an inferior team, then they won't do shit about putting together a winning hockey club.
Here we go again. Doesn't matter how many times you spell out the economic incentives to building a winning team, these guys revert back to the same mantra...over and over and over...blah, blah, blah...

They can bash the Leafs all they want but when they fuck up it all comes back to the Leafs again...blah, blah, blah...

That's because all Leafs fans have to look forward to at the beginning of the season is the elimination of the Habs and the Senators in the playoffs.

Do you only expect the trash to go one way.

youngest? not even in top 15 youngest...

here's the top 10 based on an average of who actually plays:
1. Phoenix Coyotes (Avg. age 26.185)
2. Edmonton Oilers (26.327)
3. Washington Capitals (26.330)
4. Buffalo Sabres (26.511)
5. San Jose Sharks (26.667)
6. Pittsburgh Penguins (26.670)
7. Chicago Blackhawks (26.688)
8. St. Louis Blues (26.696)
9. Los Angeles Kings (26.880)
10. Atlanta Thrashers (26.902)

Boston were a younger team than montreal. Philly is one of the oldest teams (29th)
They still have a great young core going forward and so does Philly actually. Average age stats are skewed by a few individuals so they are rather meaningless way to interpret the core youth of a team.

But by your measure, however invalid it is a measure of the quality of youth on a team, I stand corrected I suppose.

Flyers are old - or at least a few of them are.

Average age statistics can be misleading at time as a few older layers can skew the statistic. The FLyers have a very young and talented core...with some older veterans to keep the kids in line!!!

These are FLyers youger guys:

Jeff Carter 23
Mike Richards 23
Denis Tolpeko 23
R.J. Umberger 26
Riley Cote 26
Scott Hartnell 26
Patrick Thoresen 24
Steve Downie 21
Joffrey Lupul 24
Scottie Upshall 24
Braydon Coburn 23
Randy Jones 26
Lasse Kukkonen 26
Ryan Parent 21
Antero Niittymaki 27
Simon Gagne 28

While these folks skew the AVERAGE AGE:

Jim Dowd 39
Jaroslav Modry 37
Derian Hatcher 35
Mike Knuble 35
Sami Kapanen 34
Jason Smith 34
Vaclav Prospal 33
Kimmo Timonen 33
Martin Biron 30
Daniel Briere 30

OH joy. I hate dissing fellow Canadian teams in the playoffs but wow, Montreal and that douchebag Carbonneau were sooooo friggin' arrogant, this is especially satisfying. Especially loved it when the habs fans were singing their stupid song in the second period - i hope they're still singing :) Ottawa was even more dysfunctional than usual this year, so they really couldn't afford to be cocky, but the habs took it to a new level.

ole ole ole ole... oleeeee oleeeee!!!

GO LEAFS GO (have yet to lose in the playoffs for 3 straight years)
Ever been to the Bell center? It feels like you're at an English soccer match with the songs they sing.

Great season for the Habs
great season, yes. but what about the playoffs? they were the #1 hopefulls from the East. they were Canada's team- with less Canadians, of course... that seems to be the Canadian tradition.

But I thought everything had to be in French? French people singing in English, and then they pretend they don't understand a word.

I think the Habs choked...not as bad as the Sens, but bad enough.

Plus....they ran into a hot goalie...which happens in the playoffs...but then again, Biron saw everything shot his way. Grapes was right, the Habs defencemen wouldn't stay out of the shooting lanes, and Price didn't see half the goals until they were in the net. Or they were tipped in by a Hab standing in the way.

As for Price...this year was not his time....he will learn from this, and win his Stanley Cup, if not with the Habs, then with someone else. He's so young to be playing at this level. Unless injury fells him, he will have a very sucessful career.

that's crap about Price not seeing 'most of the goals'... he's a positional goaltender, much like Eddie Belfour, meaning he's always in position whether he can see the shot or not. Price played his absolute best, was 100% fresh and healthy and it wasn't good enough. That is the only way to explain it. Had Montreal had a 'hot' goalie in net, Philly woulda been laid to rest.

Don Cherry is just getting old... that, and he's trying to defend his 'good young boy'... perhaps he should register in a monastery.

Don't think I'm coming across to hard on Price- he's got alot of room for improvement and the prospect of him becoming a good NHL goalie is definitely a realistic ideal.

Carey Price stunk , plain and simple
Stunk to what degree??? LOL!!! Stunk or not, Price is not good enough to allow Montreal to advance further. Want to see Stanley Cup calibre goaltending??? There is one ongoing now between the Sharks and Stars. ;) The reason why game 6 goes to 4th OT is primarily due to the superb goaltending of Turco and Nabokov. Price paled by comparison in the goaltending department. Young age is not an excuse for poor goaltending. If he is in net as a goalie, he has to get the job done. He simply did not.

He let in many goals that he should have stopped
LOL!!! The good doc is trying to be nice to Mr. Price instead of using the stinking words on him. ;) Hope he grasps the secret of the force while golfing and become the best NHL goalie in the future.
