It's the Quebecouis(sp?) inferiority complex at work. Their ranting would be even more strident if the Habs had more Quebec-born players on the team. Don't lump me in with that bunch.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/roster/?hubname=nhl-canadiens

I count only five Quebec born players on the roster. The Captain is a Finn. The leading scorer is a Russian. The star goalie is from B.C.

How it must irk "them" deep inside to chant Cary Price's name....
seriously, the frogs on that team aren't doing much

The 401 is a route to montreal.

If there are frogs on that highway they just may croak.

Not the French players...the team as a whole, and the fans.

Did you read Mike Strobel's column in the Toronto Sun today....he agrees.

Great article. One line in the story I can really relate to..... When he says "Habs fans try to tell you they are "confident," not arrogant. But they say it with a smirk."

Before game 4, they had Carbonneau doing an interview on Sportsnet IIRC. he said .....Bruins won a game, they feel they have some momentum - good for them. Then he said they have only won 1 of the last 14 games ....etc. While what he said is true and I wouldn't expect him to say anything other than his team is confident, it was the way he said it with that freaking cocky smirk on his face. Almost looking like he was thinking - what? are you freaking kidding me? Do you know who we are and how many stanley cups we have won..... I wish I could have reached thru the tv and grabbed that prick and choked him.

Good team - but very obnoxious and arrogant fans.

7th Man on the Ice - Sellout Crowd

With the series-clinching win within reach, I'm sure the crowd of 21,273 fans will be pumped and ready to roar tonight at the Bell Centre. I've been to many NHL games in different Canadian and American cities, but nothing compares to being at the Bell Centre to watch our Montréal Canadiens. This will be sellout number 144 in a row at the Bell Centre.

Let's all enjoy the game !!!

Not difficult at all. I just don't understand how you loveable habs fans can bash a city such as, oh say, Toronto for being losers. Your one and only team has won how many championships lately?
We're not bashing the city, we're bashing the team. The answer to your next question is... 10 more than the Laughs since 1967.

Good point. Hey I have no problem with friendly banter back and forth. I just hope to see some of the 'montrealers' come back to terb if and when the habs lose. It is one thing to give it out, but if you run and hide when your team loses, then you are a frontrunner and a phoney. (I am not saying you personally, just anyone in general who won't stick around to take it afterwards).

I'm not going anywhere, I don't run and hide. I don't have any problem saying my B's are not in the same class as the habs when it comes to overall talent. They lose, they lose, I expected it all along.

Hockey Nite in TERB

As I've send from the very beginning, this thread is about hockey. Period.

It's not about bashing people nor about bashing cities. It's not about language, politics, religion, nor colour ...

This thread is about hockey games, hockey teams, and hockey players.

Just read the postings … it's about friendly banter - let's all remember that and enjoy the series.

Nothing friendly about your posts, sorry. You have a very 'in-your-face' smug attitude and it rubs people the wrong way. That's why people like to pile on.

It seems to me that Les Habitants has calmed down a little...I think he fears the ridicule piling on when his team finally goes out BEFORE the finals in the Conference.

Good for you to come on .....but I am waiting for the other two ....lol

I never expected this from Boston, they suprised me. They have won 2 more games than expected. Be nice to see it go seven.

The next game in Boston is "gut check" time for the Habs. If they can't finish off Boston in game 6, they will lose the series.

Price did look quite ordinary...and I think he knew it. Maybe the first chink in the armour. HOWEVER, (and I don't know him personally, just through the media), he strikes me as someone mature beyond his years, and I think this bad game will bother him for less than a day. He may even put a positive spin on it such as "everyone has a stinker now and then, at least it wasn't when all the marbles are on the line".

Montréal Canadiens Lead Series 3 Games to 2

Yes, we lost tonight.

We never said this was going to be a walk in the park.

As Coach Guy Carboneau just said in his news conference right after the game, we didn’t play as a unit tonight and the Bruins did.

The Habs still lead the series 3 games to 2. We will get that fourth win.
