WTF does the gov of the bank of England have to do with preventing Brexit? lol. Its a civil service post.
He was doing everything he could to persuade it from happening and failed.

You should be more concerned about him moving his business to the US while fooling you into thinking he's looking out for Canada.

He was chairman of the board who is responsible to shareholders. I am not worried about that. He was not a political figure in the UK, but he was right. The Brexit was a huge mistake for them.

Prior to Trump taking office and engaging in a trade war with Canada, a Conservative majority Government was anticipated.

I think Trump's BS is starting to tarnish the Federal Conservative brand in Canada; Pierre Poilievre is losing momentum, and it's shifting back to the Federal Liberals. He knows it too.

I would not be surprised if PM Carney goes to the Governor General and calls an election in the Spring; the Liberals might just eke out a fourth term after all. If they do, and it's a majority, PP will be dropped as Party Leader soon after.
It does not help the Cons that PP framed himself as a Canadian Trump.

We will be hearing more climate change BS with Carney in charge.
But he is at least pragmatic compared with Trudeau. I guess he will
scuttle Trudeau's ban on the sale of new gas-powered vehicles (2035?)
if elected. .
Username checks out lol
You said "due to the shit show down south" you are no longer going to vote for him.

What does Poilievre have to do with that exactly?
PPs a weasel who will bend over to Trump and won’t put Canada first

Even so, I didn't expect it to be that lopsided.
Once the polling showed between Freeland and Carney who went better against Pierre, coupled with her considered "betrayal" by the Trudeau fans, and the general new broom mindset, I figured it would beca landslide.

PeePee has only himself to blame. He developed no policy platform and his entire campaign was based around personal attacks on JT and presenting himself as the "Canadian Trump".

Subtract JT and tarnish the Trump brand and PeePee is left with no selling points and no platform. A well deserved loss for an asshole who had a couple of years to do better and failed.

I think it's funny people are comparing Poilievre to Trump but can't explain why?

Can you name 3 policies that Poilievre has proposed that would be similar to Trump's?

Of course, I'll except an answer that "you are just parroting leftwing media talking points" if you're stuck.
PeePee has no policies. He just attacked Trudeau and gabbled about "Making Canada Great Again". That's why he is now likely to lose.

Carney is going to reconfigure the carbon tax but we will still get hit by it without the rebates.

He's got the same ideology as Justin he's just more slick.

He said this when he announced he would run for leadership.

I believe he said something about it being a hidden tax to us, in the form of tariffs against places like the US and China, who don't have climate policies and a higher tax on industry here, which won't help in keeping any industry in Canada.

That is just what I explained in the post you are responding to.
"As I said I will vote ideologically to do my part in voting against right wing politics (whatever that means in Canada) as the world is trending in a dangerous far right direction."

Carny is great he knows his math to be able to keep taxes lower and budget he has a long list of education. Pierre has been living on tax payers money 20 years with only one job prior being a paper boy. Truth is Pierre is not equipped to run a Country. His chronic whining like his followers never has solutions. Jusst a negative man.
Education degrees does not mean, good politician, and leadership.

Most Sane people would choose Carny over Pierre the trump administrators that gave pierre a whole new look and make over even turned his skin orange the night of election. Every single post he does on social media is lead by the American republicans. His advisor wears her maga hat as many times as she can but when pp thought trump was causing him to lose he had trump say hes not maga boy. but there hundreds of pictures proving otherwise.

You mean your subjective opinion.

I would take a populist over a hypocrite any day.
That's totally up to you.
But no, the rhetoric being similar isn't "my opinion".
It just is.
Whether or not you think it is fair that he is being tarred by that association is a separate issue.

That's a good point.
It isn't just him aping the rhetoric and framing, it is that people want someone to stand up to Trump and Pollievre has given the impression he will do anything but.

(Of course, there is a reason we have campaigns, and how Pollievre decides to actually campaign once the election officially kicks off will be interesting to see.)

I expected it to be a landslide, but somewhere just above 70%.
I didn't expect him to break 85.
