Carney has PHD in economics from elite universities Harvard and Oxford, was Governor of Bank of Canada and England has full backing of Liberal party and believes wealth is unfairly distributed, believes in climate change, says WTF he thinks and best of all hates Trump and will not back down from Duck Donald and has said so .

The lack of strong leadership from the left, outside of Sanders, is pathetic and the knee bending of the Republicans is disgusting so strong disdain for Trump needs to come from world leaders who will not be bowed by the economic power of the USA and Carney sounds like such a leader

At the very least we finally have a very bright leader that Trudeau was not

We will be hearing more climate change BS with Carney in charge.
But he is at least pragmatic compared with Trudeau. I guess he will
scuttle Trudeau's ban on the sale of new gas-powered vehicles (2035?)
if elected. .

I already did ...once. and will again
Prior to Trump taking office and engaging in a trade war with Canada, a Conservative majority Government was anticipated.

I think Trump's BS is starting to tarnish the Federal Conservative brand in Canada; Pierre Poilievre is losing momentum, and it's shifting back to the Federal Liberals. He knows it too.

I would not be surprised if PM Carney goes to the Governor General and calls an election in the Spring; the Liberals might just eke out a fourth term after all. If they do, and it's a majority, PP will be dropped as Party Leader soon after.

I was going to vote for Pierre out of a need for change in Canada.
But after seeing the shit show down south, I am at the very least going to vote ideologically (Not that I disagree with Liberal policies) and vote Carney.
There may be many in Canada like that.
Trump sent liberals back to the Liberal Party lmao.

Who failed to prevent Brexit when he was Governor of the Bank of England...and who is now adopting Conservative policies because he doesn't want to lose the election.

I hope the Liberals scrap the carbon tax and repay every Canadian for the extra money everyone has had to spend on everything for the past decade after being forced into this Ponzi scheme.

It's funny that the Liberals have elected a leader who says he will scrap the consumer carbon tax...something the Liberals have forced onto us for the past decade.

I guess they will say anything to contradict their own values and ideology if it means getting elected.

Are we going to get that money back now?

I think the Big Brains in the Liberal party anticipated this; that's why they strung things out so long and prorogued Parliament to have a quick leadership convention.

With Parliament shut down the last 2 months, the focus is not on the failings of the Liberal party up to this point; it's on the Orange Idiot in the White House.

The Liberals now have a reset; forget the Carbon Tax; the Housing Crisis; and the Cost of Living Crisis; the focus is now on Canadian sovereignty.

Probably not, but some Mortgage Broker I follow on YouTube opined that if these Tariffs result in mass layoffs, the Government will probably start mailing out cheques so people don't default on their Mortgages.

aka CERB 3.0.

I think it's funny people are comparing Poilievre to Trump but can't explain why?

Can you name 3 policies that Poilievre has proposed that would be similar to Trump's?

Of course, I'll except an answer that "you are just parroting leftwing media talking points" if you're stuck.

...and forget last fall's budget where they lied about how large the deficit actually was.
