Since the nature of the drugs weren`t specified, this could be fairly harmless; but you have to wonder if he`ll be too embarassed to go on the Monday Night Pre-game show. Where will ESPN find someone else qualified enough to yell "Jacked up!" five times.

Also I think it`s cool that the NFL`s official site reports this kind of stuff. The NHL`s usually ignores anything controversial or oversanitizes it.

There were no drugs. Just paraphernalia.

However, we're talking "quasi-police state" USA.

Last night on the pregame he explained that it belonged to a friend that he has known for about 17 years. he knows that this guy has a drug problem and that he frisked him before coming in his house to make sure he wasnt bringing any shit in with him. He found this pipe on him. Irvin says he didnt want it in his pocket or in his house so he stashed it in his car and just forgot about it. He says he didnt want it around his kids or house. Im sorry but it just sounds too convenient and made up to me. I dont know but does Irvin have a history at all with drugs? He didnt sound convincing to me but then again its not me he has to convince

Well first...

...it was weed. A weed pipe and weed. Not really that big a deal.

Second, since Michael freely admits to being a former drug user, I have no problem believing that he still has druggies as friends. So, the story sounds reasonable to me.

I'm not saying it is true, I am saying it sounds reasonable...and given that we are talking about weed here, I fail to see what the big fucking deal is...

Well what can he say that may sound convincing? Is his story possible? I would say yes. Can it be made up? Yes again. If I was him(and lets say he's innocent), I would have a DNA test performed on the pipe to prove that i wasn't the one using it(even if I have to pay for the test myself)...

This sort of stuff isn't even news for Michael Irvin.

Back in the '90s, there was the time that a Dallas Police officer tried to contract a hitman (turned out to be a Fed) to have Irvin killed. Apparently a girl Irvin was caught with, in one of his busts, was this policecritter's "girlfriend," also a topless dancer...

His off-the-field career has been a bad-side-of-town soap opera.

They once chased him down in my neighbourhood (I lived, for a while, near the Cowboys' practice field in Irving) using a helicopter.

Him being busted? Not news...

...at how STUPID some guys are.

You're a cop - and you are going to go to prison for, as DMX would say, a piece of puss that don't even belong to you. A stripper? That is someone you are willing to kill for???

Am I saying all strippers are skanks? No. But, I am absolutely saying that based on both assumption and experience, many strippers don't exactly seem to have the same moral compass as the girl next door.

If a woman is willing and able to strip naked in front of a room of men, and also let them paw her like meat, don't you have to also wonder what else she is willing to do...like hook up with a coke using football star?

And you are willing to go to jail for such a person?

It must have been love...

Rush Limbaugh`s comments were incredibly stupid and indeed bordered on racist. If he just wanted to say that McNabb was overrated then that would be fine; but he goes on to say that the primary reason he`s rated so highly was because he`s black and the media was anxious to promote a black quarterback as a major star. Ridiculous. McNabb had earned his reputation. Not surprisingly, Rush didn`t provide one single piece of evidence or logic to back up his claims, which is consistent with his rants on his old political talk shows.

If that meant he deserved to be fired is debatable. In a free country people should have the right to be stupid, but that crossed the line from being simply politically incorrect to being prejudiced. His comments were far worse than the comments that got Jimmy the Greek fired back in the 80s. ESPN has the right to set the standards for their employees behavior on air however they like.

FWIW, I think Irvin is a disgrace as well.
