A criminal lawyer friend was commenting to us on the wkd that the drawn-out pre-trial custody was a pretty blatant attempt to try and keep him under the sentencing threshold for federal custody. I don't know how much that is, but it's clear he's not heading for a an 8- 10-year sentence some are suggesting. It's likely around 5, with about a year credit so far. He'll be out in two, day parole before that. Otherwise, him not trying to get bail earlier makes zero sense.
His hangover and house arrest are plenty.

The time he is serving now is considered dead time so it counts as time and a half or double time I'm not sure? That's gonna help him out a lot. At least that's how I remember things, I could be wrong tho.

I think he will release after 2-4 years but he won't serve more. And he will get few days vacation every month, because his good behaviour.

On top of everything else, he should get a 25 year ban on having a drivers licence.

He's got to realize he's going to jail. For how long we will have to wait and see. There was a movie and I can't remember the name where all the Italian guys are together and cook in the room Wonder if he'll go to jail there. Paul Sorveno was in it
4-6, maybe 5-7. He'll get consideration that he plead guilty instead of taking the matter to trial as well as not seeking bail right away until he actually plead guilty. I think that it's 2 for 1(?) credit for each day in jail prior to sentencing, so that's almost a good part of a year. I'm sure that a decade from now, he'll be on the family yacht in the Virgin Islands with a margarita in his hand and those kids & their gramps will still be dead. What a shame.
