My personal opinion is that the Maple Leafs fans are the dumbest hockey fans in North America. At least the Jays fans know when the team sucks and they stay home. As for Rogers, what can I say about their sports ownership that hasn't already been said?
I'm torn, frankly, where to place my bet. Is it more likely for the Leafs to win the Cup or for Trump to make a comeback? Hmm....
And now the Rogers are engaged in a bitter family feud. It probably won't happen but they should sell the Leafs to someone who actually knows hockey.
Yes...like most NHL ownership groups are big-time hockey guys with lots of NHL experience...
Ownership should select /hire the smart people to do the best job. Based strictly on on ice performance, Shanahan and Dubas are not the right hires.
I am only qualify to evaluate results and it seems that most Leaf fans are not happy with the lack of wins for the last xxx years.
It is the job of the owner to find and hire the best people. That is not my job. I can only say that Shanahan and Dubas have not produce the results that Leaf fans deserve.
I vehemently disagree. The Leafs fans are getting exactly what they deserve. They will get shit as long as they keep supporting garbage teams. And it's been a disaster after disaster with the brief exception during the Burns tenure.
Not yet. Should the time come that we're eliminated from playoff contention you'll see the wick get lit with some preliminary moves.
Without at least 4 wins in the playoffs Dubas is out.
A lot of Leaf season ticket holders are passed down from generation to generation. I know a few folks who have inherited such tickets.
Private boxes are all or almost all owned by corporations/partnerships and are generally used for marketing purposes and/or to reward loyal employees. I posted some pics of our company's private box in another thread.
