Because Michael Hutchinson would bring the Leafs over the cap and Mrazek is not on LTIR. They probably signed the U of T kid for $100 and give him all the Leafs swag.

The NHL is a professional league. This bush league.
There should be a rule preventing just bringing someone in off the street.

The early years Nylander was on par with Marner until Marner pulled ahead.
At this moment the way both are playing I'd say Nylander is at least on par again.

I will be the first to admit, I wasn't a fan of him, but within the last 2 years he has changed my mind - he makes others look good while he excels his own development. WN88 - I am a fan.

So a player from Canadian University isn't eligible to sign a try-out contract? That doesn't seem fair...

David Ayres, and others around the league, only dresses if a goalie goes down in warm-up or during the game.

It use to be Nylander, Andersen, Gardner, Kadri, etc. but Marner was the subject of both fan and media criticism this past Summer.
