Just make it taller (floor to ceiling) like they do in Asia. Seoul would be a good example.
This has been proposed for years. The cost is over $1 Billion. They could divert the funds from housing all the irregular border crossers in hotels.

Subway barriers will prevent people from jumping in front of trains but people will just find another way. It is safer for the general public than having someone jump from a bridge and cause a car accident or a building and land on top of someone.

You're assuming every subway fatality is a suicide. They're not.

It would also speed up travel times, because the trains don't have to enter the station at a snails pace.

But as Kona said, it's more important to "decolonize" schools, streets and squares. Think of the children.

No I’m not, just in responding to this particular thread. Majority of injuries/fatalities on the TTC are related to intoxication. No surprise. Dated a Trauma nurse for a long time . Dinner party conversations always turned to entertaining stories that landed stupid people in Emergency, whole or in pieces.

What compels an adult to stand close to the Yellow line?

Naivety, complacency, or stupidity?

A man is recovering on New Year's Eve after being violently pushed onto subway tracks in front of an upcoming chain in Chelsea, law enforcement sources tell NBC New York.
The 45-year-old victim was struck by a southbound no. 1 train at the 18th Street station just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the NYPD.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital with injuries to his head and a broken rib, but was conscious and alert, and is expected to survive, a law enforcement source tells NBC New York.
The NYPD said Tuesday evening it has a 23-year-old person of interest in custody, who has multiple prior arrests for assault and harassment, according to law enforcement sources.

Main stream media reports on none of the real craziness that happens in the city.
Yeah this stuff happens all the time. Social media just gives people more access to what really goes on.

Last week in Mississauga "a man parked his car on a bridge, tied a rope around his neck and jumped. The rope was too long and he was decapitated."

Video of the guy's head dangling in the air while his body is on the ground is online.

Happened on the bridge located here https://www.google.com/maps/@43.5947437,-79.600447,3a,60y,133.89h,80.4t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sIvAFWDhXDaBHTnoI5zRTdg!2e0!6shttps://streetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com/v1/thumbnail?cb_client=maps_sv.tactile&w=900&h=600&pitch=9.599999999999994&panoid=IvAFWDhXDaBHTnoI5zRTdg&yaw=133.89!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDExMC4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw==

Must be surreal to be going about one's daily life and coming across a scene like that.
