Come on Rodder, I'm sure you're at home worried about "migrant caravans". Why do you think those people from the equatorial regions are so desparate to move north? is it because their climate is stable and easy to grow plenty of food in like it has been for millenia?
Also, like, have you guys forgot about the fort mac fires? or Vancouver being cut off due to flooding? Or the Toronto Floods? Or Polar Bears not being able to hunt?

Los Angeles County fire crews are sending some of their extra equipment to first responders in Ukraine who are facing supply shortages amid an ongoing war.abc7.com
Equipment becomes surplus (out of date/too many miles/whatever). It basically becomes worthless at that point, because no "real" fire department is going to risk operational availability on old equipment.
Hell, even small town Canada won't hang on to old equipment, even though fires keep happening there:
