So much disinformation in this thread about supposed budget cuts and what not. And of course DEI and wokeism are what started this fire. This is just the pathetic talking points of the right-wing who are always looking for a minority to blame...
They pin it on climate change because they just don't want to admit it was human error the whole time. They instead blame it on a natural process and blame humans for causing it.

The 2024-25 California state budget, which Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law in June 2024, slashed funding for wildfire and forest resilience by $101 million as part of a series of cutbacks according to an analysis by the state's Legislative Analyst's Office.
However overall, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE)'s wildfire protection budget has increased sharply from $1.1 billion in 2014 to $3 billion in 2023, much of which took place after Newsom became governor in 2019.
Speaking to Newsweek, a spokesperson for Newsom said that under the governor's "leadership" the CAL FIRE budget had doubled from $2 billion in 2018-19 to $3.8 billion in 2024-25, whilst the department's personnel went from 5,829 to 10,741 over the same period.
So the guy DOUBLES the budget, then cuts 10% of the DOUBLED budget, and somehow he didn't fund it because its 190% bigger instead of 200%?
"Electric cars are leaching.." And the gas cars aren't?
Remember when the hurricanes were "directed at republican areas" a few months ago?
So either climate change is causing more frequent and more extreme events (fire, flood, hurricane) as has been predicted for the last century, OR every time one of these more frequent events happens its... Lets see:
