Can you point to any story or study that shows that female firefighters hare deficient in their duties? Like, seriously. They do the job, and have been for decades.Yeah their physical requirements scores are deficient compared to men's. If you don't think that translates into job performance where physicality is crucial, this discussions is pointless.
I'm sure you've never seen a lot of things. But, consider the fact that Steve Buscemi was once a NYC firefighter....I don't picture him carrying people out of a burning building, but he'd done it.Frankly, I've never seen a female firefighter haul an adult out of any burning building. This stuff is reserved for male firefighters for obvious reasons.
Are there important roles for female firefighters? Absolutely. But carrying people to safety from fires isn't one of them.
Here's a shocker: Women have always been ridiculed for going into "men's" careers. Do you think the first cop, paramedic, sports reporter, doctor, lawyer, etc., didn't hear all these complaints? They did when it was introduced.
What's the point in male counterparts screaming about something everyone already knows? There's no incentive to tell you that the sky is blue if it means getting fired.
The men pick up the slack.
Do you scream from the rooftop at your wife when she asks you to open a jar for her because you have the strength that she doesn't?
No, you just do it knowing that it's your job to assist. It is what it is.
This is just a sad argument.
