Remember Brad Pitt's speech from Fight Club:

"We've all been raised to think that we're going to movie stars, rock gods ... but we won't, and we're slowly realizing that ..."

I think many of us grew up on after-school specials and sit-coms, where the message was it doesn't matter how ugly, what colour, or how rich you are. If you just be nice and show some confidence, you get the prom queen.

Well, the cold, hard reality is ... it does, and you won't. :(

Interesting to see how the women on this thread have taken absolutely no ownership for their despicable behaviour...instead of admitting that there is something inherently wrong with how cold women are in this city..they get extremely defensive......typical.
Why would women apologize for your subjective view on the situation. At the very least, you should concede that the notion of "women being cold" in this city is a controversial one, since other guys here have disagreed with it.

Like Kya_Jean pointed out, the same is true for men and women. Life's a bitch, get used to it. Don't blame women for this.

And don't take your cues from Hollywood or advertising, they're often at the root of the breakdown in society.

Why do you want the prom queen anyway???

why should they be responsible for the behaviour of other women?
What I'm asking for a willingness on the part of women to admit that, yes, there is a serious problem in how many(not all) women conduct themselves in their behaviour towards men...perhaps that can be an opening to some honest dialogue...not the typical defensive approach(ex: "all men are assholes too", or "you need to get laid"

I'm not asking for women to apologize, I'm asking for the ability to concede that there is a serious problem with their behaviour, which leads to serious relationship problems down the road. Unfortunately many guys on this board either want to suck up to the SPs, or have been indoctrinated into believing the typical politically correct responses(every problem in because of men)

I for one will take ownership. I am a cold bitch to men of your kind who think that by virtue of having a pussy, my only purpose in life is to cater to men's needs and desires, and that I should be grateful for any and all attention that God's Gifts to Women grace me with.

Despicable, I know. But I like me that way.

Your making assumptions that I think women should cater to men, when I believe in much more equitable relationships.....but I've read your previous posts..and you clearly dislike men...I think many SPs dislike men as well. Pity.

And I think many men are cheating dogs with no respect for what they have at home and are always wanting more.

Are you willing to take some ownership for their despicable behaviours?

Actually, tons of Sps hate men...they grow to hate their clientele, and find it difficult to form relationships with men after their careers are over, because they see men as disposable...

Trying to generalize and make blanket statements like why are all the local women are cold heartless bitches may be a reflection of YOUR attitude towards THEM.

I was raised with the attitude, treat people the same way you yourself would like to be treated. (Thanks Mom!) Yes, I said people... not just women, but everyone. I honestly do try and live by that motto, but occasionally you run into someone that is being a bitch or an asshole, and they may not be receptive to your positive attitude at first... but press forward without negativity and you may just find that the person is just having a bad day, or has his or her guard up for one reason or another and you may just be able to turn the situation around. You never know...

TRUE STORY: The very first time I met Mrs. CG, she gave me some negative attitude... which some would consider as being cold and heartless... (I have spoken about the story before...) I was in a women's clothing store looking for green sweat pants for my Halloween costume that could possibly fit me... She seriously looked at me as if I was from another planet, and thought "what a complete fruit loop" (she told me later...) and snapped (with a negative attitude) "You know we just sell women's clothing here!"... . I pressed ahead and said, "yes, I realize that..." and I explained the situation, and we struck up a conversation, and she made a sale (they had the green sweatpants I was looking for! LOL)

What I haven't spoken of previously was WHY she was in such a crappy mood that day... I found out later, that she had lost her grand father a week earlier and her BF at the time decided NOT to go to the visitation/ funeral/ wake with her. He "said" he had previously made plans which he couldn't get out of, but to make matters worse, she found out earlier that day, that the reason WHY, was because he was screwing around on her with another girl! I suspect that, that would be enough to make any woman angry at the entire male gender. She and her BF broke up over this situation (ya think?!) and over the next 3-4 months she & I became pretty good friends...

Now, SHE was a REAL hottie, and I was just an average guy, so I had no idea she was interested in me romantically. She dropped a few hints here and there, but I was just not bright enough to pick up on them! So she eventually had to take matters into her own hands, and SHE asked me out! The rest as they say is history.

The moral of the story is... just because someone gives you attitude the first time you meet them, doesn't necessarily mean he or she is a cold heartless bitch or asshole... It might be they are just having a bad day or maybe it is a reflection of how YOU are treating THEM. Have a positive attitude towards them, and you just may be surprised! :)

Yes, but then you spoke of women on here taking ownership for this. Why should they while you don't take ownership for despicable men?

What's with this about "taking ownership" anyway, is that from a movie as well?

Taking ownership is jargon for recognizing that problems comes from within the individual..and not passing the blame to others...in this case men. Women, especially in North America act like everything is men's fault, and that is why their stock is plummeting like Nortel.

I think that amongst the men I know..they have treated women with respect..they've given them the benefit of the doubt....paid they're way countless times...and they've ended up with a shit sandwich...

Yet, strangely enough, you don't hear me complain that I can't get laid, that I can't find a date, or that my partner is a selfish ass who doesn't care for me and my needs and won't put out.

But clearly, I am the one who has trouble forming relationships and see other people as disposable. Clearly.

So why don't you take ownership for despicable men as Gen suggested?
Why is that somehow different?
