It may seem childish but we all think our place of residence is the best. It's disappointing that only Toronto seems to get the flack when people from Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, (insert city).....hype up their city just as much as Toronto.
I couldn't agree more!

With all due respect, I don't. I adore Toronto. I'm from the States (outside Boston), and I've travelled a lot. Toronto is one of my very favorite cities in North America. I've also been to a few other Canadian cities, such as Ottawa and Montreal. I like them as well, but Toronto remains one of the best for me. It certainly is a big city (someone up there said it wasn't....not sure what the criteria is, but to me it's every bit the big city that Montreal, Miami and New York are, just better in many, though not all respects).

Crime here in Toronto is incredibly low. Traffic is nowhere NEAR as bad as say, Atlanta, Boston or Washington DC, much less the automobile meccas of California. The architecture is terrific. The shopping's great. There's lots of culture, excellent restaurants, great universities, you're a wonderful sports town, it's clean and the people are friendlier than most.

Ok, I don't live here, but I've visited at least 6-8 times in the last dozen years, and I still say Toronto is a town worth coming back to.

I'm fine with Toronto and people from it.

Right up until I mention I'm from Hamilton and they treat me like shit.

Note: No personal attack on Hamilton - I love Hamiltonians. In fact, I could have inserted any Canadian city there and it would still be true. Just trying to make a point that we in Toronto probably get treated worse than those from other cities yet we are constantly accused of treating everyone else badly. I guess it's kinda like the chicken and the egg....which one happens first?

Actually Hamilton has alot going for it. I predict that the hammer is going to be a big boomtown in the next 30yrs. Hamilton has great geography, new lakefront developement starting up that hopefully will learn from T.O.s mistakes, and a wealth of fantastic victorian homes. Hess village is nice but downtown is starting to rev up a bit and over the next while will be a destination, not a place to leave. Buy an old building in downtown Hamilton and talk to me in 10 years. You will be rich. I had never thought twice about hamilton until last summer when I spent alot of time there for my work and I realized the potential. The only problem I can see with Hamilton is the small town mentality (Torontopobia) that still seems to be there. With time and money they will get over it and realize we're all on the same side.

I dunno, I am from Hamilton, but moved to Toronto in the early 90's.

I meet LOTS of people here from the Hammer.

Noone ever gave me any static, but they do have their preconceived notions of what a Hammerite should be like.
