So I just heard about less lethal guns. Its the latest thing in self-defense.

They apparently are 100% legal in all CDN provinces.
I might buy one. Looks like a cool toy.

Also great for SP's if they have troublesome customers (y)

They also come in assault rifles

That's the one I was considering. If you toftt I'd love a review. lol
Just a FYI. You cannot carry it concealed in your pocket or jacket.
And you can only use it as self-defense.
But I think you're allowed to carry it in your car's glove compartment.

I'm a bit skeptical when Byrna says it incapacitates an assailant for 30 minutes.
But it only has to work for 5-10 minutes, so you can take off from the area while that sucker is in agonizing pain :D

If you shoot someone they're gonna think its a real gun they got shot with.
Then you give them a 2nd warning, the next shot will be between your eyes.
Guaranteed he's gonna back down

Exactly, I'm not trying to lay anyone out. Just want to create an opportunity to de-escalate an attack and get out of the situation. I think in most cases it would be very effective for this purpose however there are definitely situations where it would be ineffective. If someone has enough drugs in their system even real bullets won't stop them.
Hit him in the nutsack and I think he's definitely going down, drugs or no drugs :D

Before anyone thinks that you can use this as “self-defence”… you might want to do some reading on the criminal code.

There is so much ambiguity with the “self-defence” argument that you will find yourself in cuffs faster than you can pull a trigger.

Example: Telling a cop that you’re carrying a pocket knife for opening boxes or general utility… perfectly legal. Tell a cop you’re carrying it for self-defence… illegal under the criminal code.

Even pointing a BB gun at someone in “self-defence” is illegal under the criminal code

“Self-defence” protects the assailant more than it protects the victim.

You would have to get your story ready beforehand.

Like for example tell the cop that you carry your less lethal gun with you because you're going to the shooting range.
And then some drunk, homeless guy just attacked you randomly for no reason.

I would think at that point you can use it for self-defense.
If you have no criminal record, I highly doubt a judge would throw you in jail for that

It's muzzle velocity is only 330 fps. That's not very powerful
But it can do a bit of damage. Especially if you get hit in the face.
Here's screenshots of test videos.
The first is the mark it leaves in wood.
The 2nd is the bruises it does to the body
