Leafs play 8 games in 13 days in April to end the regular season.

Outside Toronto that would make Dr. Jill Biden an honorary Canadian.
Yes, the Leafs have no fans outside the GTA. That must be why half the fans in Winnipeg, Vancouver, Ottawa, Edmonton and Calgary are wearing Blue and White jerseys when the Leafs visit. Also why the “ Go Leafs Go” chant is louder in those arenas than at Scotiabank. They are also the favourite NHL team in Newfoundland and the Maritimes.

Don't forget Leaf fans in Florida and everywhere in the USA.

Tough loss, but the Leafs didn't play badly, good thing Matthews is getting hot at the right time.

I think this is the best Leaf team in at least the past 10 years.

Didn't play badly? What were you watching. Leafs were fantastic. One of their better performances.
They shredded Hurricanes infamous 3 zone man to man coverage apart.
First goal was 2 men down and wicked shot from the slot off the post and in so can't really blame Murray on that one.
Second goal Staal hits it inches from ice after a couple of bounces right in the slot. Tough one for Murray.
3rd goal Murray I suppose should have left his pad there if he tracked the puck better.
4th goal rebound and Rielly loses Aho.
Bottom line Murray let in 4 goals again. Leafs heavily outshot Hurricanes on the road. The only other team with 100+ points.

Leafs magic number is 3 pts. But a win will probably do it.
Magic number for what? Who cares. They're playing TB and the magic number for Home Ice is not 3.
They can lose their last 10 games and still they play TB.

For home ice Leafs 2nd last game vs TB may matter. Could be a game if there's something to fight for.
If not that may be more reason for it to be a fighting game. If that's the case then Simmonds will play. To soften up Maroon.
Perhaps dress Clifford also to soften up Perry. Oh, but TB has Jeannot now. Expect some key healthy scratches.
It would be the back end of a back to back for Leafs while TB will have 2 days rest so advantage TB right there.

There were a few lapses in play that lead to the loss, they got to clean that up before the playoffs.
