I agree. He hasn't been great, but he's also not the reason they are behind. Woll has not looked good since that ankle sprain in December.
It doesn't matter who start , the top players need to step up, having 4th liner like Bertuzzi, Kamp to score it a joke.

Nylander hasn't played. It's the core 3 right now. You could say Boston is 1 up on Leafs with core players in Pasta, Marchand, McAvoy, and Swayman.
They actually didn't play badly in game 3. They had great chances and narrowly missed on many of them. That game could've gone either way. I would start Sammy again. A healthy Nylander would certainly help. Boston isn't missing any of their top players.
I still think the Leafs are a better team but the Bruins have the better goaltending. This is not to blame it all on Samsonov but the truth of the matter is he didn’t make enough key saves and allowed a softie in a very close game three. Injuries to Nylander and McMann have nullified the Leafs’ edge but a little better Samsonov and this series will go 7.
I think the Leafs have to take the approach there will be one bad goal let in by their goalies per game. It does't matter which goalie now, they are all having their difficulties with consistency.
Yes it's been more than 6 years but for Tavares it's been 6 years and he was suppose to be the final piece to bring us the cup. His signing was more publicity stunt than hockey decision. The other 3 plus Reilly were the building blocks but all the other pieces have not been added to the foundation. That's all on Shanny now cause DumBass is gone.

Expecting Leafs goaltending, D, and PK to allow no more than 1 goal to win a game is a recipe for disaster.
