If I am not mistaken and remember correctly both "Inside The Target Car" and "The Ruby Connection" seemed to conclude that The Warren Commission came to the correct conclusion. So it does seem biased.

I could be mistaken.
The conclusion would only seem biased to me if I thought they were biased in their procedures and analysis.

If their processes were scientific and as accurate and objective as can be, the conclusion is what it is, not that it is conclusive.

Either side could claim bias if the conclusion was not the one they wish to believe but it doesn't mean it is true.

Even a completely impartial, non-biased, competent, and objective documentary would be sure to piss off one side or the other.

I think the programs shown were all of the above.

What I meant by biased was that they agreed with the Warren Commission that the shot came from the Book Depository. The program didn't delve into "another shooter" theory.

But my moemory isn't as good as it once was :(

I would recommend that you all watch, "Beyond Conspiracy" an ABC news special narrated by Peter Jennings. It was made in 2004 and goes into extensive research on the Zapruder film, the characters of Oswald and Ruby, the rumours - i.e. that Oswald was incapable of such a shot, the Magic Bullet theory etc. It is available on YouTube and is worth viewing.

That was excellent!!

Incredibly informative and enlightening and thorough!

Every position is given the opportunity to make their case and each time every potential conspiracy theory is logically shot down as total bullshit.

There have been no reported assassination attempts since Ronald Reagan in 1982. Are there less nutjobs running around now or has Presidential security changed?

Actually, Presidential security has changed immensely since the JFK assassination, however, it's also changed since Reagan.
Let's hope that security is infallible. I do fear for the safety of President Obama. "Character assassination" could set a nutcase loose either in the U.S. or abroad.

It's impressive to the uninitiated.

Here's just one critique:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rESNREam2eg
That is one person's critique of one point.

There are numerous convincing points and first hand accounts by people directly connected to Oswald and Ruby at critical times.

The DA played by Costner in that fantasy movie was shown to be a fool and his lone witness a pathetic liar.

However, later information proved that DA Garrison's allegation that Ferrie, Shaw and Oswald were connected.
The only witness Garrison had was Russo.
He took a polygraph test and was asked if he ever saw Shaw at Ferrie's apartment.
His answer was "I don't know".
He was asked for a yes or no and he replied "no".
The jury took 54 minutes to find Shaw not guilty.

My other point was that several people who knew Oswald and Ruby very well and saw and communicated with them at critical times all think they were not part of a conspiracy.

It is based on Daley Myers Emmy Award-winning CG recreations on a 3-D basis. I've emailed Mr. Myers and I think he's done some good work (especially in disproving 'Badgeman').

But he doesn't prove the Single Bullet Theory (there are certain imperfections here and there, and you don't see the follow-thru to Connally).

You must know that the huge network news agencies are biased towards the WCR (Warren Commission Report).

Some critics cite Myers work as just a fancy cartoon.
Actually, you do see the follow-thru to Connally in the special. It discounts Cyril Wecht's passionate Magic Bullet theory. I don't buy into the huge networks being biased supporters of the Warren Commission Report. In interviews at the time, Jennings talked about having independence into his investigative report. The fringe critics who portray Myer's work as just a "fancy cartoon" seem a little silly.

I was very much pro-conspiracy for the longest time and spent hours with John Judge, who is well known in the conspiracy community, going over all of his information. I've slowly and very reluctantly changed my opinion and feel that as improbable as it seemed for so long, that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. Believe me, if any credible, overwhelming information supporting conspiracy crops up, I'll gladly jump back into your camp!

I don't want to hijack this thread but I have a question.

I read that great pains were taken to get rid of the casket JFK was transported in from Parkland Hospital back to DC.
I think RFK wanted it to disappear so it wouldn't be part of some freak show later on.
They drilled holes in it and then dropped in from a helicopter into the ocean near the Bahamas?

Anyone know anything about this?

What about the piece of skull or brain matter that Jackie tried to retrieve on the left side of the limo?
Amazingly, that was recreated exactly along with the motorcycle cop being sprayed with brain matter do not recall any mention of any skull being recreated outside the vehicle

It is certainly theoretically possible but there is also room for asking the question as well. A real sharpshooter was barely able to duplicate that shoot (minus the tree). Plus, Oswald had the added pressure of shooting at a real President (and not just a recreation).
I belive that the sharp shooter that tested Oswald's rifle found that it needed repairs before the test shooting could commence

Why did Ruby ask to be sent to Washington for protection like Joseph Valachi got (the WC did not grant him that)?

What about his statement to the press that the 'world would never know the truth behind it all because of people in power above'?

And most important, why was he stalking Oswald days before Oswald was murdered? (He even corrected someone during a press conference as to the proper name for the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, which Oswald was associated with).
Why wasn't Ruby silenced too?

Ruby said a lot of contradictory things.
Why would you assume to know which are true?

How exactly do you equate the stalking issue with his motive?
It is highly likely that the opportunity to kill Oswald was a very lucky fluke.
This doesn't mean that the desire and idea to do it was a random spur of the moment decision at that time and I don't recall anybody making such a claim although you repeatedly seem to need to respond as such.

This does not work for me. If you set him up you got to silence him. To kill him after he had been interogated by the police the FBI and the CIA ... makes no sense

Should have killed him before that like upon arrest or even before by setting up a cop to do it or even having him fall down the stairs trying to leave the depository or making it look like he committed suicide or...

If it was a conspiracy they sure were sloppy in that they forgot to shut up Oswald so they sent in Ruby to shut the gate after the horses left the barn

Ruby's success in killing Oswald was an extremely lucky fluke.
It was much more likely to have not happened than to have succeeded.
A lot of random things had to happen for him to even have a chance at that very brief window of opportunity.
He wouldn't have even been in the area if a stripper didn't call him to ask him to Western Union $25 to her.
If he was going there to try to kill Oswald, he wouldn't have risked missing the brief opportunity by being in WU 4 minutes before killing Oswald and he wouldn't have taken his dog with him either.
The Oswald interrogation took longer than expected plus he was cold and requested a sweater which also delayed his departure.
That chill probably cost him his life that day.
The car taking Oswald was still backing up and not in position where it would have blocked Ruby and made his task much more difficult.
The TV lights obscured the view of Ruby allowing him to get right in there before anybody could react.

Oswald used to miss 1 or 2 out of 50 shots at 200 yards with rapid fire.
Wasn't that using a modern marine issued M1 shooting at a stationary target? On November 22, 1963, he used a $20 mail order WW II Italian carbine shooting at a target in a moving car.

Query: If Owald wasn't acting alone, couldn't "they" have bought him a better rifle?
