GTA & Thereabouts...
Looking for some recommendations...

My General Purpose Jeans are/were Levis, but they do not seem to last long anymore... I get holes in my crotch and in my ass pockets and where the ass pockets are sewn at the top...

Fashion 'Denim' were a brand called Alberto. Epic, but not available like they used to be.

Need to cover my hockey-ish butt in style (but am tired of fall-apart clothes). I'm looking for brands that promote the cupping of my butt.

OP, what are you doing thats making holes in your crotch or the ass pockets? Rubbing up against razor blades?

My Levi's last for a decade. I don't wear them everyday, but at least once a week. Maybe it's how you wash and dry them.

No clue... Might wear a pair 1-3x per week at most (I have lots of pairs). Wash (inside out) once per week in Woolite. Normal Dry on a Maytag. They just don't last.

I've been happy with the Boss jeans I get at their outlet store at Vaughan Mills. The fit is fine for my Grandpa bod, and they last as long as any other brand name I've tried in years gone by...

I wear them every day, alternating between 2 pairs, and wash each pair once a week.

Tip from the Boss store: wash inside out, and then hang dry.

Maybe it's the heat from the Maytag dryer that's the problem?

For comparison: I beat the living Fuck out of a pair of hiking-type Prana pants from MEC. Had them for nearly a decade and I cannot kill them. Pants for the Apocalypse.

If you liked Alberto, look at AG jeans. $$ but I’ve had a few pairs and they fit great. I’ve almost worn out a pair, but that was with over 3 year of frequent wear. They have a number of Jean styles that don’t have too much Lycra too, a rarity these days. (If I wanted yoga pants, I’d go to lululemon).

I managed to get a pair of Kiton jeans second hand for $100, they are the best garment I've ever owned. Soooo comfortable, don't even want to know what a new pair would cost.
Also managed to get 2 pairs of RL jeans that fit well from winners CHEAP

Read the care label. Many jeans now have some spandex in the fabric for stretch. They virtually all say hang (or lay flat) to dry or tumble dry low. Normal or high heat breaks down elastics over time.

I'd recommend Wrangler jeans. Been the only brand that works for me, lasts forever and a fraction of the cost of Levi's and most other jeans, especially overpriced brand names.
I was also gonna say Wrangler, but Lee jeans are pretty good as well.

Well said LTO. I switched to Wranglers when Levi's eliminated the belt loop directly in the middle of the back. Bad form from Levi's. My go to jeans in the past were Lee flairs ..... not Levi's.

100% cotton are hard to find these days, and it sucks. I was cleaning out an old closet a few years ago and found a pair of old Marks Work Warehouse Dakotas I forgot I had. Been wearing them ever since and they still look better than all the other newer ones I own.

Jeans or Denim are not like they used to be. During my teens they lasted even though I abused it. But the last 25 years they really sucked. They short changed us on the material quality. and fitting.

Looks like everyone has different experiences and desires.

I like Banana Republic Traveller jeans especially because they're cotton with some spandex that gives when you move around, ie. the traveler.

They come in regular, slim and skinny depending on your body type and style.

Best part of BR is that once you know your fit, they generally have a consistent fit to their product.

Their partner brand GAP still have 100% cotton jeans if that's your preference.

Their products are a little over-priced but they always have sales, including right now. They wear well, but don't expect them to last forever...they're just pants FFS

Where do you get Lee jeans now, @shack ? Lee flairs were my go to years a go!
I think I got them in the US. A Vanity Fair (VF) store in a Tanger outlet mall in Myrtle Beach. I got them in classic blue denim as well as grey denim.
