Too bad Gibby is not the bench boss of the boys in Queens anymore. He very well could've been next in line if there was a Mets manager change. He's with the Angels now. Maybe tonight's telecast will talk to him. I missed yesterday's pregame, so maybe they already did.

I think tonight's performance will finally convince Jays brass to yank Hoffman from closer role. Thank goodness Varland saved the day. Varland will likely move to closer role for now. I don't even think Hoffmam deserves high leverage situations. Unlikely to have any market value at this point in time.

Enough is enough. Good on Schneider to pull the trigger before another game went into the toilet.

When are they gonna release this MoFo ?????
Chad Green and Jeff Hoffman are both making 10/11,000,000 annually and they let Chad Green go because he was essentially throwing batting practice. Jeff Hoffman is unstable. I feel sorry for the guy, but he's useless. I don't know why they just don't let him go. He reminds me of Mitch Williams lol you just don't know what to expect .Even having a good year is a nervous feeling.

The NY Mets have lost 12 consecutive game, some are saying it's buyer's remorse on Bo.

It's not Bo's fault that the expensive Mets suck. They didn't do their homework. Bo's an introvert playing in front of the most hostile fan base in the Majors. The players feel it, they have been more down than up. Bo had it good in Toronto but management didn't always view him as a team player. He got low balled. He may not always have gotten along with Vlady, but Vlady as an extrovert always knew how to pick him up. Bo doesn't have that in Queens.

So the big question is what's better? Having Varland as a closer or continue to use him on a case by case basis as the fireman to put out fires. We cannot continue with Jeff Hoffman as the closer. Every single analyst is saying the same thing and they are all acknowledging he's got the issues between his ears.

What a start tonight. Scherzer gives up 5 earned runs in the top of the first, then Lukes pulls something on a swing and had to leave the game in the bottom of the first. I sense a plague of locusts is coming soon.

14.34 ERA for Max in his last three starts, (17 earned runs in 10⅔ innings). Not quite 'Charlie Brown' numbers, but getting there.

Yohendrick Pinango is a 5'10" 170 lb left-hand hitting Venezuelan who will turn 24 in two weeks. He was obtained just prior to the 2024 trade deadline from the Chicago Cubs as the major piece in exchange for Nate Pearson, who's now back in the minors in the Houston Astros organization, and still failing to meet expectations.

Based on his stats alone, Pinango appears to have decent power and a good on base percentage, but he's below average in the field.

This reminds me of a cartoon I saw in a Playboy or Penthouse magazine. An advisor says to a child King "Your highness, you can't say 'on with his head' after you've said 'off with his head' "
