Getting kinda short of runway. We need a 5 game win streak I think at this point..

Whatever happens from here, it better be a tiebreaker that ends up determining the 3rd AL Wild Card :ROFLMAO: That’s what makes those races so entertaining

On the highway of life
Minor league playoffs, Vancouver hosts the first two games of the Northwest League championship tomorrow and Wednesday vs. Eugene Emeralds (SF).
It's rematch of the 2022 final when Addison Barger and Davis Schneider were on the team.

Florida Complex League Jays lost their single-game semi-final to the Rays in late July.

Buffalo, NH, Dunedin aren't making the playoffs this year.
After a walk-off win in game 2 on Wednesday, the Canadians are looking for a championship sweep tonight in Eugene, OR.

Leave it to the Jays to give up a homer to the first batter of the game :ROFLMAO:

I was reminded of this when I saw that the Rays and Brewers were the first two to clinch a postseason berth

I just noticed that if the Jays make it as the third WC, the Astros are one of the potential opponents. This is significant because of Springer

lol, and why did we trade Teoscar again? Oh yeah, "his defense sucks." I wonder if Sanchez was smiling when he got the news. Sid Sexiero simply calls him "gloves."

Actually, to my surprise, Sanchez hit one of the longest home runs in the Statcast era. He's on a couple of YouTube videos. He was with the Astros at the time. For sure there's power there, but he looks as lost against left-handed pitching as he does in the outfield.

The guy they traded to get Sanchez, Joey Loperfido, is an excellent fielder.

Sanchez' replacement on the Jays' 40 man roster, Rudy Martin, will be 31 years old in January. He made his Major League debut in Friday's game.

Rudy Martin minor league career stats

I know nothing about Martin's fielding abilities, but he's a plus runner. Fielding percentages in minor league stats are often inconclusive because minor league grounds-keeping standards are lower.

There were a lot more errors committed in baseball back in the day. I was a big Montreal Expos fan as a kid in early 1970's. The infield 'dirt' was composed of crushed bricks from demolished buildings, and chunks would cause bad hops in front of infielders on a regular basis. At Fulton County Stadium in Atlanta, large portions of the outfield 'grass' was dirt painted green.

Reminds me of this scary incident.

Does anyone happen to know what the modern MLB record is for a team stranding the bases loaded in a season???

Not only can the Jays not help themselves, they aren’t getting help from the Sox teams either :ROFLMAO:

The Jays overlooked an opponent with a +80 run differential for the season :ROFLMAO:

There was something satisfying about how yesterday’s game ended on an overturned ball to complete the final top of the 9th strikeout. The casual call by the announcer felt like they were all involved in speed running the game to end
