All I knew was that he was an utra talented bulldog of a pitcher and now he was great for my Blue Jays.
Really big game tonight and the Jays blew it. They could’ve sure used The Rocket today. Fuck Mitchell and fuck his report. How dare anyone question The Rocket? Lol

I saw some footage today on YouTube, from a start with the Yankees in the 2000 season, where they had the ESPN pitch clock, and Clemens was consistently gunned at 97/98mph.

I swear by today’s standards that would’ve been
easy 102/103mph.

…..sorry I keep hijacking this thread with my Clemens obsession.

Interesting stat pointed out tonight on Sportsnet:
Blue Jays record vs. teams .500 or above: 38-43.
Blue Jays record vs. teams below ,500: 42-21.

They only play one team with a sub .500 record the rest of the way(NY Yankees).

I agree, is this the Jays or the Larps? The Jays won't make the playoffs, several contributing factors. The biggest is Alek Manoah becoming a cancer on the team. He now thinks he's bigger than the club. He spent the off-season partying, his belly hung out over his belt. Give him what he wants and cut him.

Before he became The Hound yarp.

Yep and that is why I don't expect them to qualify for playoffs. This edition of the Jays just doesn't have the right mix of talent and too many players are having a subpar season.

I don't know why this Alek Manoah story is only coming out now. I've been wondering what the hell was going on for almost 4 weeks now as I never saw any stats from him out of Buffalo.

I can't imagine he pitches another day for this club. He's also hurt is own image making himself less attractable. His agent needs to slap some sense into him.

Great video post. This is so true. How selfish of Manoah to act this way and hog a roster spot. This video really puts it in perspective.

I thought only we deranged fans in NYC say this about athletes in all our pro sports. Of course, we like to elevate ourselves to plateau high above mere mortal fans in cities like, say Toronto, or fake fans in cities like, say, LA or Miami, by saying under performing jocks just can't handle NYC, that it takes a special kind--like Jeter or Messier or Manning--to play in NYC. Oh, how much better we think we are than like, you. God, NYC fans are insufferable. And I'm one of them.Thing is we're suffering with ALL our teams at the moment. They all suck.

Hey how are you doing buddy? I’ve been dealing with a really bad stomach bug. I haven’t been checking our PMs here, but I will get right to it. No in a slightly hallucinogenic state, I’ve been coming on here and posting about my obsession with Roger Clemens, and somehow connecting it to the 1960s theme songs for Rocket Robin Hood lol.

Well, you got The Rocket part in focus. Speaking of "hallucinogenic" states, mad-ass drugging in the upper deck of the old Yankee Stadium before it closed for renovations, driving the Yanks to Shea Stadium for two years in the mid-70s, coupled with impetuous Georgie Boy setting the template for the wannabe young Trump, turned the Yanks from snooze to must-see. Even when they were winning in the 50s and early 60s the Stadium was never full. As a kid I was there for Maris' 60th Ruth-tying homer. The Stadium was half full. Last year for Judge it was if the Pope was batting. All the Popes.

They are losing seven to nothing in game three of this must win series in the 7th. They should have fired their hitting coach months ago to shake up the entire system. Like Buck Martinez just said, these hitters are not performing to their career average: This is just too frustrating to watch:

go mariners go!

Unfortunately yes. I will actually say, it's working because I've never had it but seeing the commercial last night almost made go get some tonight. I think I'll try it sometime in the next few weeks.
Consider the possibility it was the chicken that led to the loss of his mojo this year.

I tried Mary Brown's Big Mary chicken sandwich - it was slightly bigger than a hockey puck. As for the Jays, no comment...don't need the agita.

Phillip I hope you didn't get the stomach bug in San Antonio, that's Chuck's kinda town.

I tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. IMO, better than KFC or Popeyes. I guess Manoah thought the same after sampling all of them, and likely, many times.
