Where does NYC get it water? The really good news is not from the polluted East River and/or the equally polluted Hudson River.
Where Does New York City Get Its Water From? - WorldAtlas
From the article you posted:
The water that ends up in most taps across the city of New York makes the approximately 125-mile journey from upstate New York. The city’s water supply system is a complex system that relies mainly on a combination of reservoirs, aqueducts, and tunnels to meet daily demands. NYC has a simple water treatment process and supplies about 95% of the total water demand by gravity. The other 5% has to be pumped to increase pressure. The city has one of the largest, well-protected watersheds, extending for about 53,000 hectares.

What else do you want to know that is baseball/Blue Jays related?

I am drinking a bottle of Poland Spring Water from the case we bought when we checked in…… as I read this lol. Poland Spring Water definitely runs New York. I don’t even think there’s a close second choice. Poland Spring Water is everywhere. Every store, every vendor, even the Yankees drink it in the dugout.
Just to be clear for the one member (the usual suspect) who seems confused. NYC gets its water from the Catskills.

Jays need to go on an 8-game winning streak. Plain and simple.
Otherwise they can forget about the post season

No they don't need to do that. Of course they got start bunching some wins, especially in the weak next 11 games... say 8 of 11.

Houston, Texas, Seattle play each other 13 times before the end of eason. Best case scenario one of the three gets blown out in those games... but if they all go .500 in those games against each other it also open the door for Toronto. Its hard to expect all 3 teams in one division to do great to close. One of three is likely to just play .500 for various reasons including the head to heads and normal team randomness.

I still think 18-12 (90 wins)a bit more likely than not gets it done. But no certainty.

Problem is that Texas is nose diving these days.....

Not gonna happen
Which one - the Jays going 18-12 or 18-12 to reach the playoffs.
I can certainly see the former as tough especially with one out.

The latter required one of the 3 AL West teams to close 15-15 or so which is not that unlikely given head to head matchups and normal win distribution patterns.

I don't think they're going to make the playoffs, and I think they'll be hard pressed to go 18-12

I thought you wanted them all to go .500 against each other?
Maybe I worded it wrong.

The best scenario is that 1 of the 3 teams gets bombed, so that bottom target is easier to get to.
But even in the scenario where they play .500 against each other, it limits the possibility of them all doing well.

So all the matchups between the 3 is a good thing for the Jays -- somebody has to lose those games.

Bases loaded with nobody out, and they still can't come back and win the game.

Pathetic

After the current series against Washington, the Jays' next nine games are at Colorado Rockies and Oakland A's, then three at home against the KC Royals. Following that is four at home against the Texas Rangers, three at home against the Red Sox, and six against the Yankees and five against the Rays to end the regular season. Personally,I would wait until after the series with the Rangers before declaring this season to be a write off, if they're not within a game of a Wild Card berth.

Seven of the Rangers' last ten games are vs the Mariners, and they also have three to play against Houston.

Seventeen of Seatle's remaining games are against the Rangers, Astros, Rays and Dodgers, with three more against the Reds.

He has his slowest runner on base....and a young guy just called up on the bench......of course the slow guy gets thrown out at the plate.......I can't think of any reason a major league manager doesn't pinch run for Kirk in the 8th.

And so good to see Vladdy having fun at first base (sarcasm).

At the risk of deviating from such a rivetting topic, I have a question that, shockingly, actually deals with baseball.

I wonder, when I see stats like "player X has a batting average of .250 (I picked a random number) against fastballs" or "team Y is batting .301 against sliders with a man in scoring position". How is that calculated, especially when that particular pitch might only be thrown once in an at bat or that situation only presents itself for 3 pitches in an entire game and they're to 3 different players?

I've only started seeing this for about the last 2 or 3 seasons. Initially, I'd accept what they said at face value, but when I thought about it, I'd ask, how do they come up with a batting average against one particular pitch?

We're as bad as the Yankees.
3 days and no response from The Oracle. I'm concerned. Can someone check on him, please. See if his mail is piling up, or if there is a foul odour eminating from his prefecture.

oh buddy, it’s ridiculous how much I love to eat. I need to be careful in my 40s. After this trip I’m definitely taking the elliptical very seriously.

I went to Sparks Steak House for a second time. Every time I come to New York every summer I go to this place at least twice. John Gotti/Paul Castalano assassination history. This place is unbelievable. This time instead of always staying in Times Square and Manhattan we actually explored Long Island and I’ve been in Brooklyn. Went to Coney Island yesterday. Oysters and hotdogs all day. Lol.

Philip
I'm curious, do people take pictures of themselves on the spot Castellano was killed.
