It's up to Kikuchi to stop the slide. Yikes! Let's hope spring training wasn't a fluke.

I wish Guerrero leaned back a little bit in his batting stance, took a bigger stride, and tried to accomplish more of that upward swing trajectory.

I wish the Blue Jays would hire Fred McGriff as their hitting coach.

Ala Garth Iorg, he would lean way back in the box to track ball deep in strike zone.

Lol or Rance Mulliniks?

With Vladimir and all his 180 mph exit velocitys.... how sweet would his swing be if it just had a little bit of a loop. Like Aaron Judge keeping his weight back.

It just feels like every classic power hitter would launch with their weight back.... with the exception of The Big Hurt.

Well, the improbable happened. Kikuchi stopped the slide and now has the best ERA among Jays starters. Lots of little things done right by Jays tonight. Varsho impressive.

I'm of the impression that most of Kikuchi's problems were between the ears. He pitched aggressively which is encouraging. Kiermaier and Varsho appear to be paying off.

Gausman has the best ERA, he didn’t allow an earned run in his first start.

That runner was out by a mile.

Hopefully Manoah gets back on track tonight.

I have a hunch that the pitch clock works for Kikuchi and Pearson, they don't have time to think. I expect Pearson and Barger to be called up before the Summer Solstice, if he doesn't stop batting like Tweety, Belt will be DFA. The St Louis Cardinals didn't wait till June to start their impressive rookie Jordan Walker. I don't expect Ryu to be back till August. Manoah has to return to his usual intimidating self so that he can do a Curly Howard nostril pull on the cheetah Garrit Cole.

As a fielder I hope Bobofett becomes another George Brett not another Chuck Knoblauch. Brett was an error machine for most of the 70's, then he learned from his mistakes. Bobofett could get 200 hits for the Jays ever year for next five years.

You're right. I missed that. Also, I don't really expect Kikuchi to lead the way all year. A few good defensive plays that might not have been made last year helped him. If he can give the Jays a chance win more than half the times he starts, I will be happy. Berrios may be the biggest concern. He hasn't shown any signs of bouncing back.
